While Disneyland was still growing in California, Walt Disney wanted a bigger parcel of land to build a bigger Magic Kingdom and his greatest dream, Epcot.

Walt Disney World opened October 1, 1971 and since then has been growing to include 4 theme parks (Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios are the other two), 2 water parks, and 23 resort hotels.
