• Inside and In Depth: D23′s From The Vaults: Sister Act at Walt Disney Studio

    D23's From the Vaults series continued this weekend at the Walt Disney Studio in Burbank offering members the chance to see Sister Act on the big screen once more. Before the start of the film, music developer and orchestrator Marc Shaiman was invited up to speak to the fans about his involvement with the film.

    In February, the studio also played host to the D23 From the Vaults: Newsies event which included a panel discussion.

    D23 Members receive a commemorative FROM THE VAULTS patch.




    John from D23 welcomed the audience.




    John introduced Marc Shaiman the musical director for Sister Act.




    Shaiman recounted his experience working on the film including getting the job from a hesitant Jeffrey Katzenberg.




    Shaiman is known for a wide variety of work including and an Oscar nomination for "Blame Canada" in the South Park Movie. He is also responsible for the music on NBC's "Smash" and both the stage musical and new movie versions of Hairspray.




    His mused that changing the lyric in the Mary Wells classic "My Guy" to "My God" was a joke that actually stuck.




    The Studio Store was given a BRAVE makeover.
