• Earthquake shakes up Southern California, Disneyland attractions close ahead of normal operating time

According to USGS, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Los Angeles area of Yorba Linda at 11:23pm tonight. The earthquake was centered approximately 15 miles northeast of the Disneyland Resort.

No major damage has been reported at the Resort as of posting; Disney California Adventure Park was closed at the time however Disneyland Park was open.

As is standard for the Disneyland Resort, most attractions automatically E-Stop during an earthquake and must be reset after inspections are completed to deem the attractions safe. Because of proximity to closing time, most attractions did not reopen and the park was effectively closed approximately a half hour ahead of schedule.

The parks should resume normal operating procedures tomorrow morning with both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park scheduled to open at 8am.

    UPDATE - 8:00am, 08/08/12
As expected, both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park opened their gates at 8am sharp this morning and have resumed normal operation with no major unplanned closures.
