• The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers: A review of The Tigger Movie on Blu-ray!

Bouncing onto Blu-ray for the first time, Disney's The Tigger Movie, finds Tigger out to prove he's not the only one. The film has all of the fun and humor one would expect from the lovable Tigger and the Blu-ray and DVD Bounce-A-RRRific Combo Pack is packed full of fun for the entire family. It's available now to own!

In The Tigger Movie, Tigger sets out on an adventure to find his family tree and along the way finds the true meaning of family. The first theatrical Winnie the Pooh film since 1977's The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has all of the elements of a successful Pooh film. It has everyone's favorite characters and the humor and fun that comes with them. While it may not be the same caliber as the 1977 film or last year's Winnie the Pooh, it is successful and entertaining in it's own right. It is great to see Tigger front and center here instead of just being the best friend.

A real standout of the film is the songs by the legendary Sherman Brothers making a welcome return to Disney films. It is great to once again hear their music in a Disney film and it is even more poignant since the passing of Robert Sherman earlier this year.

The Blu-ray is full of bonus features including:

A short featurette, "A Tigger Tale," has those who made the film discussing the history of the character and how it influenced The Tigger Movie. The featurette is fun, but much too short. It would be better if it was longer and a more comprehensive making-of feature.

While viewing the film there is a Disney Intermission option that, when the film is paused, features games for the little ones. Adults won't find much here, but the kids will no doubt enjoy it.

The disc also features ten Winnie the Pooh shorts that die-hard Pooh fans will appreciate. Rounding out the bonus features are "Round My Family Tree" Sing-Along Song and "Your Heart Will Lead You Home" music video by Kenny Loggins. The Blu-ray also comes with a Pooh themed family tree that kids can
fill in with their family members. The Combo Pack also comes with the obligatory DVD.

I must admit that I had never seen this film before, but I found it quite entertaining. While it may not be the best Pooh film ever, it is certainly a great Pooh film and is worth a look now that it is finally available on Blu-ray.
