• D23 hosts more than 1000 fans to celebrate 30th Anniversary of EPCOT

    Thirty years ago tomorrow — on Oct. 1, 1982 — EPCOT Center opened, the most ambitious theme park Disney had ever created. Today, more than 1,000 members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club gathered at Epcot in Walt Disney World for a full day of special presentations to commemorate this incredible, memorable theme park.

    More than 1,000 Epcot enthusiasts, members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, gathered at Epcot’s World Showcase on Sunday, Oct. 1, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the theme park, which first opened on Oct. 1, 1982. A day of special panels and presentations, all created by D23, marked the anniversary.
