Though many people tour Hampton Court Palace each day, few are able to stay here. But in a tradition that has been going on since King George III, some visitors are welcome to stay the night on behalf of the custodians, Historic Royal Palaces.
Guests staying here get a sense of the secret life of royalty. There are stairs that lead to secret corridors. There are vast gardens, providing lots of privacy.
Guests can either stay in Fish Court or the Georgian House. Fish Court is an apartment in Tudor Palace, originally for the Officers of the Pastry. This suite is adjacent to the palace and contains 4 rooms, sleeping up to 6 people. The Georgian House used to be the home of the Clerk of Works and was originally a kitchen. Now it provides a private garden and sleeps up to 8.
So even if you can’t stay in Cinderella’s castle, you can stay in Henry VIII’s castle and feel like royalty.
