• December 3, 2011 - Holidays Abound at the Disneyland Resort

Saturday was a busy day for the Disneyland Resort. Apart from being well into the holiday season, the parks were bustling with guests anticipating the traditional Candlelight Ceremony and Processional.

It was also a special media day in which various outlets were invited to check out the holiday festivities including a special setup at the Festival Arena which includes snacks, characters, and general merriment.

Booth 8 was home for check-in for both the Media Event and the Candlelight event.

Buy a hopper! Mickey has a tail again.

Holiday dressed Horseless Streetcar passes by all the Candlelight setup.

Gary Sinise is narrator this year for Disneyland.

The Train Station closed early this weekend for Candlelight ceremony.

A few attractions and areas also closed for Candlelight including Captain Eo which serves as a staging area.

Holiday-themed gift cards are available around the resort.

    So incredibly adorable.

Looks like the pumps are caringly serviced by Chevron. All they are missing is the Oswald toppers.

These Condor Flats pumps are also serviced by Chevron. Decade to decade they are everywhere. They service the future too at the Autopia attraction.

A look at on-going Carsland construction...

Toy Story halted for about a minute and then continued as normal.

Red and white at the Blue Sky Cellar.

Loving the color in the parks.

Over at the Media Event area in the Festival Arena there were a few photo-ops set up.

    Cookie decorating, yum!

    More desserts.

The talented Joe Yakovetic sketching up one awesome piece after the other by request.

    Donald on the drums.

    Max rockin' out on guitar.

Mr. Yakovetic drew my request, Davy Jones! Side note, glad Jones is back inside Pirates.

Another fun piece, Steamboat Willie and Oswald.

Mickey and Minnie were looking for Christmas trees at Donald's lot.

Propieter Donald was not too far away. All trees guaranteed to be trees!

Goofy's Chalet offers magnificent views of Matterhorn mountain.

    His tree lot.

Daisy looking adorable in her Christmas parade outfit.

Little wooden head was also around. Gotta love Pinocchio!

Media area also included face painting.

Air brushed tattoos were also available.

    Some of the offerings.

Pinocchio playing some reindeer games with the kids.

    Backwards toss tic-tac-toe!

    Minnie has horrible aim.

Lovely setup. Nothing happened here, though.

We'll end the update with a look at A Christmas Fantasy Parade!

    THE END!
