• TravelEAR Abroad: Enter a World of Fantasy

Welcome back, travelEARS! Last week, we gave you an opportunity to stay in an elephant. Today, you get the chance to stay in a Trojan horse. This is La Balade des Gnomes.

Though the Trojan horse is the main draw here, the hotel also features a series of great fairytale rooms, something straight out of Fantasyland.

    About This Hotel

    Location:
    Heyd Nr Durbuy, Wallonia, Belgium
    Typical Cost:
    $100 -$250/ night
    Website:
    http://www.labaladedesgnomes.be/

Located in a farmhouse on a charming country lane, the property was originally designed and built as a restaurant. The architect and designer took inspiration from various fairytales and built the hotel next door.

Perhaps you would like the room on the top floor of the house, where you sleep with a mermaid under the starry night sky. Or maybe you’d like to stay in the spaceship room on a lunar landscape? Or maybe you’d prefer to stay in a forest with trolls, complete with a “river” running through the middle of the room?

And then of course there is the Trojan horse room. Inspired by the classic Greek myth, you can access the room via a draw bridge. This room features beautifully handcrafted wood furnishings.

No matter what room you chose to stay in, you will be guaranteed to be transported to a magical place. The theming here is truly fantastic!

See you next week as we continue to take you, the TravelEAR, Abroad.
