A record breaker this is not but Sam Raimi's OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL is extimated to pull in the expected $80 million target amount. The film opened with a strong start on Friday taking in more than $24 million domestically according to Box Office Mojo.
Overall, 2013 has been rife with disappointing box offices but this opening for OZ is the biggest of the year thus far and in the top 5 of movies that have ever opened in March. It's Friday opening alone nearly made more than John Carter's entire March opening weekend. Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, by contrast, also opened in March but with more than a $116 million take.by Published on 03-09-2013 07:45 PM

Al Lutz mentioned a few weeks ago that a special Greek celebration is in the works for the Disneyland Resort as part of a new event division called “Small World Celebrations.” Similar to the events we've already seen the past few years for the Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras Bayou Bash, and Dia de Reyes the new celebrations offer a way for guests to experience Disney magic like never before with special limited time entertainment, food, crafts, and activities.
A recent Disneyland Resort survey was asking about such types of celebrations and how relevant that they would be at the Disneyland Resort. The options below might give a sneak peek at upcoming Limited Time Magic offerings at the Disneyland Resort.by Published on 03-08-2013 08:30 PM

Wreck it Ralph was a contender this year at the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and while the shiny gold Oscar went to Disney-Pixar's BRAVE instead, the film is definitely with its own merit. Within WRECK IT RALPH, we find several distinct worlds that have been brought to life like never before.
In celebration of the film's release on Blu-ray and DVD, we have a great feature talking with several of the visual development artists from the film who helped conceptualize the video game worlds and characters in Wreck-It Ralph.
