Just in time for the Holiday break this month, Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre welcomes the return of “Monsters, Inc,” in stunning 3D for the first time ever from Dec. 19 - Jan. 6, 2013. Monsters, Inc will be available for the first time in 3D on Blu-ray on February 19th.
To add to the fun, before every showing of the movie, Mike and Sulley will appear live on stage to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Even Boo is getting in on the fun by hosting a special character breakfast on select days.
Daily showtimes are 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online at elcapitantickets.com or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. HEAVYWEIGHTS is a classic under-the-radar Disney comedy from 1995 that starred a then-relatively unknown Ben Stiller. Normally when Disney issues a Blu-ray release of a lower tier film--especially a film produced more than 10 years ago--the bonus features leave a lot to be desired if there's any there to begin with.

Not quite even finished with the 2012 season, the Disney Cruise Line has already announced its itinerary plans and ports of call for 2014. It's a year of homecomings as all four Disney ships will be sailing from Florida ports.
The Florida sailings not only mean tons of stops at Disney's private island Castaway Cay but guests have more options to combine their cruise with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

In celebration of the art-form that launched the Disney studio, the Beverly Hills Hotel played host last week to The Walt Disney Studios' 2012 Animation Celebration. The special executive party included Disney VIP attendees as Tim Burton, John Lassetter, and studio chairman Alan Horn.
For any super fan of the Disney studios and Disney animation, this was the place to be. Others in attendance included WRECK IT RALPH's John C. Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) taps Jennifer Lee to join Chris Buck at the helm of its 53rd full-length animated feature “Frozen,” which is slated for the big screen on Nov. 27, 2013. Lee, who has contributed to the film’s screenplay, is one of the screenplay writers of this year’s hit arcade-hopping adventure “Wreck-It Ralph.”
Lee's screen adaptation of John Steinbeck’s “The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights” is being produced by Troika Pictures. She has an original screenplay in development with Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way, and her original script “Lucid Dreams” was optioned by Wolfgang Peterson's Radiant Productions. Earlier this year Disney announced a partnership with Harrods of London. The celebration began with the opening of “Disney at Harrods,” a 7,000 square-foot pop-up boutique featuring a variety of Disney products at Harrods' Knightsbridge store.
The boutique features a Cinderella Glass Slipper Salon, a Disney Princess dress-up area and merchandise displays. A new interactive area also encourages families to enjoy Disney-themed activities such as storytelling sessions. The location is home to limited edition items that range from collectibles to unique dress-up pieces, including glitter-embellished replica glass slippers.

In an interesting pairing, WWE Studios and ABC Family are developing an upcoming television movie, Christmas Bounty, for ABC Family’s popular “25 Days of Christmas” programming event. WWE Superstar, The Miz, is attached to star in a lead role. The film is expected to release next year for the 2013 holiday season.
This year, ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas is actually quite a bit longer than 25 days, spanning from November 18 - December 30. It's more holiday cheer than ever and the network continues to bring new movies plus returning holiday favorites.
