Many guests opt each December 31 to ring in the new year at the happiest place on earth and this year should be no different. With the expected heavy crowds hitting the Resort hard and heavy from Christmas to New Years, the first thing to be prepared for at Disneyland for New Years Eve is CROWDS. Lots of them.

Be prepared to wait in lines and wait long times in those long lines. There will be increased demands for everything around the resort from attractions and shows to restaurants and bathrooms. There will be a lot of people also celebrating 2013 at the Disneyland Resort so you'll do yourself a big favor if you bring a heavy dose of patience.

If you can get past the crowding situation then you're in for a blast with several special offerings through-out the night at both parks.

Although Disney just recently released the official movie slate for 2013 for the Walt Disney Studios, we have just received confirmation of another film being released next year... Disney PLANES.

Originally slated for a direct-to-home release in Spring of 2013, it is now confirmed that the spin-off to Disney Pixar's CARS will now be released into theaters.

Confusingly, the spin-off is NOT a Pixar project. Instead, it is being released under the Disney umbrella as originally intended when it was first announced. Starring Jon Cryer in the lead role as Dusty, Disney PLANES is set for theatrical release on August 9, 2013.

Disney Cruise Line Captain Thord Haugen and his shipboard officers will host local port officials and community leaders aboard the 2,700-passenger Disney Wonder for a plaque exchange ceremony in celebration of the inaugural call on Costa Maya, in accordance with maritime tradition.

Although other Disney ships have visited Costa Maya previously, it is a port of call for the first time for the Disney Wonder, as the ship repositions to its new regional homeport in Miami.

After the Disney Wonder departs Costa Maya, the ship will sail to Miami to begin a new series of itineraries. This is the first time a Disney ship will have a regional homeport in Southern Florida, allowing families from this area to take advantage of departing from a port close to their own backyard.
