Deadline unveiled today that The Walt Disney Company is nearing the end of a deal to acquire the rights for Saving Mr. Banks, a making-of film about creating the original Mary Poppins movie. Rumors abound that the script has been considered by top name actors Tom Hanks (to portray Walt Disney) and Meryl Streep (as author PL Travers).

Fans of Mary Poppins know the Walt Disney spanned a good deal of his career trying to persuade Australian author P.L. Travers to sell him the rights to her books about the precocious British Nanny and this new film would chronicle that saga.

History shows that he would eventually succeed as Mary Poppins would not only be made into a film but would go onto make millions of dollars for the studio since its release.

Entertainment Weekly had the first look this week at concept art for Disney's upcoming Wreck-It Ralph. Ever since Disney screened the first few minutes of the film at the D23 Expo last year, I've been excited to see more about this film.

Ralph (John C. Reilly) is a video game baddie from the era of Donkey Kong and Pac Man. He smashes buildings in the realm of Niceland while Fix It Felix Jr. (Jack McBrayer) is the local hero repairing buildings and saving people.

Living on his trash heap, the 643 pound Ralph looks to change his destiny. Jumping through the electric plugs in the old arcade, he is able to visit other video games for a shot at redemption and another life.
