Following yesterday's expansion announcements for Tokyo Disney Resort, concept art was released that is almost as vague as the announcement itself. The big FROZEN news seems to be relegated to Tokyo Disney Sea with the announcement of a new port in the park. The new concept art released was a look at Tokyo Disneyland's Fantasyland.

The concept art is mostly vague but there's a few noticeable things to consider when looking up-close at the artwork. The new work in Fantasyland promises to double the size of the land and include major new attractions, restaurants and shops. So what can definitely be seen in the concept art? Not a whole lot... yet.

    Take a look for yourself!

Last night we reported that Tokyo Disney Resort would be heavily investing in its resort with a new bundle of money. As part of the changes we noted that a new FROZEN expansion to the roster of offerings would be coming. Despite all but confirming the Frozen expansion, the extremely vague official announcement by Oriental Land Company included more than just a snow queen and her sister!

The FROZEN stuff specifically was not confirmed but the announcement did say that a new eigth port located south of Lost River Delta was under consideration (Editor's note: "Port of Arendelle" is our guess).

The primary focus of the release was to tout major expansion in Fantasyland which will likely be Enchanted Forest extension to bring more fairy tales to life as was done in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida. The new work in Tokyo's Fantasyland promises to double the size of the land and include major new attractions, restaurants and shops.

According to Nikkei Asian Review, the Oriental Land Company–which owns and operates the Tokyo Disney Resort–will be undergoing a massive fiscal investment/expansion to the tune of $4.58 billion (USD) through 2023. As there are no other reportings on this topic we post this as pure speculation and rumor. Take it with a grain of snow!

As part of the rumored investment, a "large attraction" based on FROZEN (which, in Japan, has a box office take rivaled only by the film Titanic and Avatar) will be included with a recreation of the film's castle (unclear if it's Elsa's ice castle or Arendelle's own grand palace.) Interestingly, the rumored changes are also to include a renovation of Fantasyland and a relocation of the "it's a small world" attraction.

There's no official announcements from the OLC as yet but it's interesting food for thought to see if/how the well-reputed Japanese company will bring to life Disney's hottest (coolest?) property in quite some time.
