Today D23 announced that starting August 9th tickets will begin selling for the 2013 D23 Expo. Also announced this year, the expo will feature an overflow theater for the D23 Arena, also an expanded Stage 23 seating. D23 Expo also brings more fun with an expanded show floor to include almost all of the lower convention center's Hall's.

Tickets for D23 Expo 2013 will be available at a discounted price for a limited time. From August 9–December 31, 2012, tickets will be $47 for a one-day adult admission and $37 for children 3-12. Tickets for members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will be $40 for a one-day adult admission and $32 for children. Multi-day money-saving tickets are also available for both D23 Members and the general public, and D23 Members can save as much as $204 off the price of admission, based on the purchase of four three-day tickets at the D23 Member rate.

SlashFilm has reported that several more high-profile actors have been brought on for SAVING MR. BANKS, a live-action film about Walt Disney bringing Mary Poppins to life.

Jason Schwartzman, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti and Ruth Wilson are reportedly all taking parts in the film. They will be portraying Richard Sherman, Travers' father, Travers' chauffer, and Travers' mother, respectively.

Back in February it was revealed that Tom Hanks would be filling the shoes of Walt Disney and since Emma Thompson has been on-boarded as the precocious Poppins author PL Travers.

Today while there is not much construction or refurbishment going on at the Resort, the one project that everyone is excited about is Fantasy Faire, and that seems to be at a stand still.

Over at Disney California Adventure the citizens of Buena Vista Street were out mingling with guests, and the Hollywood Land building displays get new items reflecting more of it's current themeing.

Every year, the unofficial Disneyana fan club hosts a convention at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Anahim, just a mile or so south of the Disneyland Resort. Each year it offers the opportunity for Disney fans to find a plethora of random items, trinkets, toys, and collectibles available for sale. Sometimes there's also a few notable people from Disney's history on hand selling their book or signing autographs.

This year Paige O'Hara, better known as the voice of Belle from Beauty and the Beast was on hand amongst other Disneyana regulars such as Bob Gurr and Margaret Kerry.

It's been a busy year in Disney Geekdom, at least it has been for us here at MouseInfo! After the media blitz last month at the Disneyland Resort for the grand reopening of Disney California Adventure the geeks were in full force once again. This time in San Diego for Comic Con International 2012!

Disney had a decent sized presence this year at "The Con" and as this was our first year there, we tried our best to understand the event and also bring back coverage of all the goings on that a Disney fan would want to know. Today NFTYsqrt headed back to the Resort to check up on the transformation of Carnation Gardens to Fantasy Faire. Also, we take a look at some of the new merchandise offered at the Resort.

Disney released today a talent list of some of the voice actors who will be on the cast for Disney's upcoming Wreck it Ralph. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman will be joined on the cast by other notables such as Alan Tudyk, Ed O'Neill, Adam Carolla, Horation Sans, and Edie McClurg.

On Friday, July 13, 2012, select fans at San Diego Comic Con were treated to an exclusive premiere screening of ITEM 47, a Marvel One-Shot short film which will be included with the bonus material on the upcoming September 25th Blu-ray & DVD release of THE AVENGERS!

Comic Con attendees were encouraged to download the all-new App - "The Avengers Initiative: A Marvel Second Screen App" - from the iTunes store for unprecedented access to exclusive content building up to the September 25th home entertainment release, and also in order to partake in the alternate reality game (ARG) at the Con!

Fan solved puzzles within the App to receive special codes, that when unlocked, guided them to their next clue using a built in map of the Gas Lamp District in Downtown San Diego. A total of 4 location spots were included. Upon completing the entire ARG experience, fans were given access to the special screening followed by a Q&A with ITEM 47 director and Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito, and stars Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Bradford and Maximiliano Hernandez!

Today NFTYSqrt went to the Disneyland Resort to help celebrate Disneyland's 57th Anniversary. To mark its special birthday the characters came out to sing Happy Birthday in Town Sqaure.

Also today, the U.S.A. Olympic Volleyball Team had a special sendoff cavalcade that included the 2012 All-American College Band. While today's update is brief it's definitely a meaningful one to be a part of these celebrations at the Resort.

Today Disneyland helped sendoff the 2012 U.S.A. Volleyball Olympic Team with a cavalcade down Mian Street U.S.A. with the help of some characters and the 2012 All-American College Band.
