Disney Channel has just announced its upcoming DESCENDANTS, a contemporary live-action adventure-comedy that taps into Disney's most evil villains and introduces their children as a modern-day generation of teenagers growing up in their shadows of their parents.

The film takes place in the enchanted kingdom of Belle and the Beast and focuses on the children of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar who ultimately question the evil that's always been in their hearts.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL director Kenny Ortega is on board for the film which is scheduled to begin production next spring for a 2015 premiere on the Disney Channel network. There's no indication as yet as to whether or not the film will include singing or dancing.

Disney VoluntEARS at Walt Disney World are helping to spread some cheer just in time for Christmas by donating more than 36,000 toys to Central Florida children. In addition to the toy donation, $30,000 gift to Community Hope Center which helps homeless families in Florida was also given.

The annual toy drive's national campaign also received $200,000 from The Walt Disney Company as part of Disney’s long-standing support to the organization—which dates back to 1947 when Walt Disney designed the original Toys for Tots logo that is still used today.

It is hard to believe that the beloved classic MARY POPPINS is celebrating its golden anniversary but next year marks the 50th year of the classic Disney cinematic gem. To commemorate the golden year, the film is being released onto Blu-ray for the first time in a special Mary Poppins 50th Anniversary Edition release available today.

Disney fans have been touched by the story of the precocious nanny with a magical umbrella in many ways over the years; whether it was the original books, the original film, the Broadway musical, or even the upcoming SAVING MR. BANKS biopic, the legacy paved by author PL Travers is an extraordinary one that was indubitably brought to magical life in the way only Disney could have done.

In anticipation of this landmark anniversary, I expected that the release would be practically perfect in every way but it's really more of a BD upgrade than it is a new edition to be excited about.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013 we had the opportunity to see the 2013 Candlelight Procession and Ceremony at Disneyland. We were invited to see the 5:30pm performance which was narrated by Kurt Russell. Conductor Nancy Sulahian led the Candlelight Choir, featured guitarist, soloists, orchestra, bell choir, and fanfare trumpeters through the time-cherished tradition.

In 1958, Walt Disney began the Candlelight Processional & Ceremony as a way to show his gratitude to the local community. Carrying lit candles, hundreds of choir members proceed down Main Street, USA to fill the Main Street Train Station. Comprised of Cast Members and community choirs the group sings classical hymns inbetween the telling of the Christmas story.
