Now through January 5, 2014, Hong Kong Disneyland is celebrating the upcoming holiday season with a little holiday cheer with Disney’s Sparkling Christmas.

Christmas Illumination brings together Santa Goofy, Mickey and Minnie plus dancers holding luminous snowflakes who light the Main Street Christmas tree set to a grand musical score prompting snow fall and Christmas Carolers singing holiday tunes.

Plus, new this year are storytelling shows in Toy Story Land, Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point where you can find yourself in the immersive experiences of "Let's Tell a Toy Story," or the hand-puppet show "A Winter Wish," or a shadow puppet show performed by a Southeast Asian puppetry troupe called "Adventures with Lord Henry."

These two offerings in addition to Christmas decorations on Main Street's "Christmas Town" are what guests can celebrate this holiday season in addition to new merchandise and several new dining options that the Hong Kong Disneyland chefs have created.

"Planes" opened in August with many mixed reviews and many felt it should have been a direct to video release like most of Disney Toon Studios releases are. But this little studio as well as this film, soared above my expectations. While it is not a perfect film it can certainly hold its own and while learning more about the filmmaker s, you can tell while watching that this film about crop duster dreaming to become more, is exactly what the filmmakers dreamt about as well. And now PLANES is available on Blu-ray to bring home for the entire family to enjoy.

Long Beach Comic and Horror Con took place last weekend at the Long Beach Convention Center. The new event, celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, brings thousands of people for a comic and horror event that some say is reminiscent of what SDCC used to be before it got so commercial. We were only able to attend the Saturday portion of the event but got an overall good taste of what there was to enjoy!

On our journey through we saw some great cosplay, a bunch of star cars, some great booths on the showfloor and of course the Disney Afternoon Panel. It was a fun afternoon of comic and horror geekiness.

Fresh-made candy canes are a holiday treat that many come the Disneyland Resort specifically to enjoy. Many say that nothing beats a fresh made candy cane, still warm and soft in the middle.

Due to the time consuming nature of creating candy canes by hand, they are made in very small batches. Over the years the minty treat have caught on into quite the elusive Disney treat that can be more sought after than a pin release or a new Vinylmation. As such, your only chance of getting your hand on one is to get a wristband at the location in the morning and return later once it's ready. They are available 1 candy cane per wristband/guest and are sold for $12.99.

From now through January 5, the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood is THE place to get FROZEN. If you're anywhere near the area and you're planning to see Disney's animated feature film FROZEN then you should do yourself the favor of seeing it here.

We were invited to check out the offerings and for just a few bucks more than what you'll pay at your local cineplex (or even the same price depending on your movie going preferences) you get to see the film in crystal clear digital 3D with Dolby Atmos sound plus two special pre-shows before you see the movie.
