After a very strong but not record-braking opening Friday, buzz began to build about the highly anticipated superhero flick topping the records. Domestically, the opening weekend for the film is on track to make the record books with estimates as high as $200 million, the film could very well smash previous record for Deathly Hallows Part 2 which grossed nearly $170 million in 2011.
The film has already grossed over $200 million dollars in international markets where the film had an earlier release. It is also still tracking quite high on Rotten Tomatoes with a 94% Freshness rating.
It's safe to say that there will probably be another one in the works in addition to the sequels to the respective spin-offs that are already in production.
So did you assemble this weekend to see THE AVENGERS? Let us know your thoughts!
In case you missed it, here's our review of the film!by Published on 05-05-2012 02:00 PMCategories:by Published on 05-05-2012 12:00 PMCategories:

Cinco de Mayo for most people today has very little celebratory connection to the 1862 Battle of Puebla in which the Mexican military defeated the French. Instead, it's become more of a celebration of Mexican pride and culture.
There's no better way we can think of today than to say HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO with Disney's original Three Caballeros: Jose Carioca, Donald Duck, and Panchito.by Published on 05-05-2012 07:00 AMCategories:

The show premiered tonight to the solid packed crowds in the park. Not many overtly obvious changes were made to the show and guests are still treated to two appearances by Tinker Bell as well as the crowd favorite of Dumbo flying over the castle.by Published on 05-04-2012 05:00 PMCategories:

Two new promotional images have been released recently showcasing more detail about the film and more about the fiesty spirit of Merida as both show the not-so-girly princess wielding a sword.
We also got to learn even more about Merida this week, as the folks at MouseSteps have new video from EPCOT of her from a meet and greet opportunity. With her fiery red hair, glittery green dress, and Scottish (for the most part
) accent the new character is introducing guests to the free spirit that they will come to love in Disney-Pixar's upcoming BRAVE when it hits theaters June 22.
A dedicated meet and greet area for Merida in both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park will be premiering soon.by Published on 05-03-2012 07:00 AM
I don't do the pins and I don't do the Vinylmations. I'm just not that type of Disney Parks fan. But this new Jiminy Cricket Vinylmation figure is one that I might consider adding to my random assortment of Disney treasures because this one is for a good cause.
This new special edition figure became available at Disney Store locations nationwide and online at Disney.com after this weekend's World Wish Day celebration and reopening of the original Disney Store in Glendale.
What makes this one so special is that now through May 31, 2012 the Disney Store will donate $1 (up to $15,000) to Make-A-Wish America. To support Make-A-Wish locally, Disney Store will also donate $250 to each chapter in the U.S. and Canada, for a total of $17,500, to assist with local wishes throughout the year.
The new figure costs $9.95.by Published on 05-02-2012 05:00 PM
Scarlett Johansson received a great honor today when she received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to film.
The timing coincides not-so-coincidentally with the Friday release of her newest film, MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS. Co-star Jeremy Renner was in attendance for showing his support. You can catch them both in theaters starting May 4th.
