Armchair archivists assemble! For the release of Marvel's The Avengers, this episode of Armchair Archivist unveils rarely seen props and costumes from Marvel's The Avengers, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America.

Details are sparse but Disney confirmed today via the DPB that a new attraction coming this fall to Disney's Hollywood Studios surrounding the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow. The only bit we have is that the new attraction will "give guests a chance to become immersed in the world of the four “Pirates of the Caribbean” films."

How this goes beyond the actual Pirates of the Caribbean attraction itself has not yet been revealed. It is noted that Disney worked with the archives as well as the filmmakers while they were shooting the last movie which could allude to a visual or 3D presentation, "it really is first person experience" according to Jason Roberts a show producer for WDI.

Mille. Antionette's Parfumerie in New Orleans Square will soon be celebrating it's one year anniversary. As part of the celebration starting the weekend of May 4th complimentary bottle painting and engraving will be availiable with any purchase. Also, Disneyland Annual Passholder's can also recieve a free sample by just showing their pass May 24-28.

DPB shared today that the Downtown Disney District will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo with food, fun, and festivities. Tortilla Jo's will offer a special three course meal, and also family fun with pinata sessions featuring the Mariachi Divas

As we gear up to the June 15th opening of Carsland at Disney California Adventure we sit and wait in anticipation. To help ease (or tease) the excitment Disney has released a few images lately of the beautiful new land that is taking shape in the former Timon Parking Lot.

Cars Land will have three new attractions, a variety of themed merchandise, and something for everyone to eat in this newest land at Disney California Adventure. DPB has given us plenty of amazing pictures to keep us busy until June 15th.

Guests staying at the newest Walt Disney World's Art of Animation Resort will have a variety of choices at the Landscape of Flavors food court. The restaurant's decor is inspired by Disney's animated films, with four seating areas themed to "The Lion King," "Cars," "Finding Nemo," and "The Little Mermaid." The first phase of the Art of Animation Resort opens May 31, 2012.

The masses will assemble. Hands down, the movie of the summer will be Marvel’s THE AVENGERS. The promotion has been absolutely bananas and the anticipation for this superhero flick coupled with the hype will have it breaking records come May 4th.

At its core, this is a summer movie. There’s explosions, and fighting, and shooting. But THE AVENGERS is more than just a summer movie. There’s a good balance between the action, the dialogue, and the humor almost to the point where it feels formulaic in its well-crafted balance.

There’s a lot riding on this film for Marvel as they plant the flag in Disney’s turf, establishing a franchise that will have legs to carry it well into the future. The appeal of these characters and their intertwined stories will almost guarantee more movies for the group of superheroes.

On Sunday April 29, Disney Store celebrated the grand reopening of its newly-redesigned store at Glendale Galleria, in California. The location holds the special distinction of being the very first EVER Disney Store, having opened in 1987.

In typical reopening fashion, free Mickey Mouse ears were given to the first 500 in attendance and meet and greets with the characters Rapunzel & Flynn Rider as well as Belle & the Beast* will take place in the mall's center court.

New Royal Guest rooms are fit for a prince or princess, opened March 2012 at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. The 512 themes rooms feature ornate beds, playful artwork, and an immersive experience with your beloved animated characters.

Saturday April 28, 2012 marked the final evening of the Carnation Gardens Stage hosting the Jump Jive and Boogie swing dance parties. The location will soon make way for a princess-themed area which will continue to do the swing dance parties but the loss of theming has traditionalists thinking the popularity of the event will not continue despite Disney's official confirmation that the parties will return.

At the conclusion of the event, a large "flash mob" moment occurred with several swing dancing participants dancing to the peppy "Date Night at Disneyland" song made popular in 1956.

So what is the Kumbuk River Resort? I like to compare it to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Except that it is actually in Africa, not Orlando. And you’ll see why exactly.

The now infamous John Carter film is close to ending it's theatrical run with the home-release of the film on June 5th. The film fared far better oversees after performing far below studio expectations in the domestic box office.

Despite the disappointing returns, the Blu-ray release of the film will include a few standard options for an epic film release along with a documentary or two about the long-history of the film and it's literary past.

Brave is in theaters June 22.
