Although completely non-descript, Nintendo and Universal Studios recently announced a collaboration for new dedicated experiences and attractions based on beloved Nintendo games, characters, and worlds in the Universal theme parks.
It is expected that the new experiences will begin to appear and replace the Kid Zone section of the Universal Studios Florida theme park vs. an all new world but in a world where flying wizards and oversized gorillas all intermingle, you never know what could be on the way... storming Bowsers Castle? On a quest for Zelda's ocarina?
Although rumors swirl that Nintendo's presence could mean the end of Universal Orlando's Marvel attractions, that is definitely not the case. Reliable sources indicate that new Marvel attractions are planned for Universal's Islands of Adventure in the next 3-5 years, as their contract for Marvel rights is perpetual.
Look for Nintendo attractions to start to appear at Universal Studios Florida, Hollywood and Japan within the next few years.

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland, the Walt Disney Archives will be showcasing more than 300 pieces as part of the D23 Expo. WALT DISNEY ARCHIVES PRESENTS DISNEYLAND: THE EXHIBIT will be for the first time ever in Expo history on the Expo show floor.
The exhibit will include themed areas that honor the park’s history, attractions, parades, and entertainment over the past six decades, including the construction of Disneyland, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mickey Mouse Club at Disneyland, Club 33, and collectible merchandise, as well as the park’s iconic lands: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Tomorrowland, and Critter Country/Bear Country. Each area will contain items from Disneyland’s past, including attraction vehicles, costumes, props, and even Audio-Animatronics figures.
The D23 Expo is August 14-16, 2015.
Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton are developing a new animated preschool Television series based on their #1 bestselling book series THE VERY FAIRY PRINCESS. The Very Fairy Princess franchise, which is part of The Julie Andrews Collection, and published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, first launched in 2010.
The animated TV series will focus on Geraldine, for whom being a very fairy princess is less about appearances than it is about knowing what makes your heart sing, and having the courage to share that with others. Slated to launch on air in 2016, the series will be jointly developed with Andrews and Walton Hamilton and produced at Nelvana Studio in Toronto.
Excited to see Disney/Pixar's INSIDE OUT and incredibly sweet short LAVA before the rest of the world? Well D23 and Fathom Events are teaming together to bring a one night only event in select United States movie theaters on June 16th.
This one-night event will include a screening of the full-length feature Inside Out, plus the new Lava short, three days before the film’s official release on June 19. Audiences will also be treated to 15 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from Pixar Animation Studios and a Q&A with director Pete Docter, producer Jonas Rivera, and the voice of Joy, Amy Poehler, live via satellite from their Australian tour.
The event goes on sale to the public on May 15th, but D23 members can purchase tickets starting May 12th.
Fans planning on attending the D23 Expo this year will have a busy Saturday! D23 has just announced their lineup for the bigger presentations that will take place in a new 7500 seat HALL D23 that will be located in Hall D of the Anaheim Convention Center.
Friday, August 14 will be the return of the Disney Legend's Ceremony, and later that day the Walt Disney Studios will do their presentation of new movies from Disney Animation and Pixar. On Saturday, Walt Disney Studios will do their massive presentation from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm. Also that same day wil be the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Presentation hosted by parks chairman, Bob Chapek. Star Wars Land anyone?
