Today was a beautiful day at the Disneyland Resort. A great day to check out the opening of the newest Starbucks location on Disneyland Resort property in Downtown Disney. The location is owned by Starbucks, which means right now no AP discount, but they do honor Starbucks rewards. I

The day has come and the last announced Starbucks location for the Disneyland Resort has opened its doors in Downtown Disney. Located near the Mickey and Friends tram stop, the optimally positioned coffee house will serve up its signature blends of beverages and snacks.

This location also marks the first time Starbucks is offering technology to share its coffee story on a 10-foot video installation. An interactive touch screen also inspires creativity for even the youngest Disneyland Resort guests and Starbucks customers. And look for a kiosk location in Downtown Disney District this summer!

As we inch closer to the busy Spring Break period at the Disneyland Resort, walls are coming down on construction and refurb projects. It was announced today that the Starbucks location at Downtown Disney will be opening this upcoming Monday. By this summer, the location is expected to carry a selection of wine, beer, and appetizers similar to that of other So Cal branches (including the location at LAX).

The wildest ride in the wilderness is also inching nearer to its public debut; Disney today announced a March 17 opening for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The unexpected news for the evening on Friday was the major backup at the Mickey and Friends parking structure that caused delays of upwards of an hour to exit the parking structure after Disneyland closed for the evening.

There's only one red-colored level at the color-coded Mickey and Friends Parking Structure but hundreds of guests on multiple levels were seeing red tonight after significant delays had cars at a literal standstill for more than 30 minutes after parking closing.

Due to the layout and exit path of the structure, guests parked in the highest numbered rows (the rows closest to the escalators and elevators) had the longest waits as they had to wait for guests in the farthest rows (at the opposite end of the structure) to make their exit first.

The domino affect left many cars literally unmoved for an extended period of time; so much so that many cars turned off their engines to wait. Some guests abandoned their cars on the aisles completely to walk around and try to look over the railings at any possible hold-ups.

Other cars turned the opportunity to get into honking games that at first started cheeky (a whole lot of "Shave and a Haircut" honks) but then eventually turned into frustrated long honks that sounded chaotic and loud combined unison with the echo of the cavernous structure. Several cars in those high numbered lanes also went against the rules opting for a quicker exit by going the wrong way in the lanes.
