Nftysqrt hit the parks yesterday for a look at all the holiday merriment that is spreading into Disneyland Resort which... just got merrier... now that its holiday decorations are starting to go in for the season.
Just two days out from Halloween and the spooky holiday is but a distant memory as Buena Vista Street prepares for its first holiday season, Paradise Pier gets its Christmas Tree, shops get seasonal decor and merchandise, refurbishments continue, and prep is under way for this weekend's taping of the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade.

In a brief ceremony held yesterday afternoon, Mario Lopez joined Mickey Mouse yesterday to officially grand open the Earl of Sandwich restaurant location at Downtown Disney in Anaheim. The restaurant chain is a primarily east-coast franchise with a location in Walt Disney World at Downtown Disney West in Florida.
Mario Lopez is expected to be hosting this year's Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade.
We announced this morning that the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade will be taping at Disneyland this weekend. We've since received a few more bits of information about the goings on for those who might be interested in seeing it in person. As always, the show tapes in early November and airs on Christmas morning on ABC.
Although we don't have official confirmation, we're pretty sure that taping will be occurring at Disneyland this weekend for the annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade and the headlining band for Disneyland this year is the Backstreet Boys.
We don't have any information about parade times or performance locations but in years prior seats all long Main Street fill up starting in the morning with the parade taping going from around noon through about 3 or 4pm. Performances usually take place in front of the castle where an elaborate stage is setup for the tapings. Last year, Christina Aguilera's performance was moved into the lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel due to inclement weather.
Some quick Christmas decorations should start appearing on Main Street as early as today. In years past, celebrity performances at Disneyland have included Big Bad VooDoo Daddies, Selena Gomez, Katherin Jenkins and Nathan Pacheco.
Earl of Sandwich is set for its grand opening November 2 at the Downtown Disney location in Anaheim. The branch already has a location in Florida at Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World and it has plenty of east coast locations but this will be the first California location and only the third on the west coast--the other two are in Las Vegas.
When the tenancy of the sandwich shop was first announced in February, many assumed that the shop would be ready by the beginning of summer for the splashy premiere of the grand opening of Disney California Adventure.by Published on 10-27-2012 11:59 AM
Dick Vane Dyke, Molly Ringwald, and Kurt Russell will be among the special narrators for Disneyland's Candlelight Ceremony and Processional this year. While Disney has yet to release on just how seating packages will be made available, they have offered up a new list of the upcoming narrators for the event.
Disney is still working at frantic pace to figure out the logistics of the first-ever multiple weekend performances of the Candlelight Ceremony Processional which which will offer seats to those willing to plunk down some cash for dinner packages.
