    The much debated MAGICBANDS have recently been made available to non-resort guests at a purchase price of $12.95. The RFID enabled bracelets are now being bundled into vacation packages in an effort to rollout the full MyMagic+ system but the the new program has had many setbacks and vocal backlash online.

    Still, the costly program moves forward. For those NOT staying at a Disney hotel who want to partake in the benefits of the new MyMagic+ system, there are now 16 location around Walt Disney World that sell the MagicBands. Once purchased, a Cast Member will connect a Guest’s retail MagicBand to her or his My Disney Experience account and seamlessly link all plans such as tickets, dining reservations, Disney PhotoPass Service, and FastPass+ selections.

    If you're an Annual Pass, Disney Vacation Club Member or Golden Oak resident cardholders you can get a ten percent discount on the purchase of your MagicBand.

    UPDATE: Disney Chairman Tom Staggs has posted to the Disney Parks Blog sharing some positive statements about the MyMagic+ system in an effort to help drum up support for the new program.

    Walt Disney World is going lightspeed ahead with Star Wars integrations into Disney Hollywood Studios with the recent announcement of two Star Wars-themed character dining experiences that will be launching May 4 and last through June 15.

    The first is Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant where breakfast guests may encounter Darth Vader and other Star Wars film characters.

    The other is Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine at Hollywood & Vine where dinner guests will find Mickey in his Jedi outfit as well as a host of other characters at guests for a feast complete with Star Wars music, interactive moments and of course the dinner buffet.

    Price of the breakfast experience is $47.99 for adults and $29.99 for children. The dinner experience is $55.99 for adults and $33.99 for children, or as part of the “Fantasmic!” Dinner Package at a price of adults $59.99 and $36.99 for children. Both experiences include a digital photograph.

    Disney Sports will host its first ever competition of athletes competing in different fitness challenges that test speed, strength, endurance, flexibility and stamina. Challenges will be designed based on the age and skill level of the participant.

    The inaugural DISNEY FIT CHALLENGE at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World will take place from September 26-28.

    Starting today, as part of the 21st annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, guests can now take part in the IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party. Adults get in for $49 and Children for $29 and the event occurs Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays twice per night through the end of the festival.

    Today Disney D23 announced that the upcoming Destination D: Attraction Rewind event has moved to November 22 and 23rd. Check-in and exclusive shopping opportunities will begin on Friday, November 21.

    Originally announced to take place in July, the event will feature Disney Legends Marty Sklar, Bob Gurr and other popular Disney Legends who worked on the Walt Disney shows for the New York World's Fair will be taking part in the event this fall.
