Today marks the first anniversary of NEWSIES on Broadway! The Tony Award-winning hit Broadway musical has been seen by nearly a half-million people, broken seven Nederlander Theatre house records, and has regularly been among Broadway’s top 10 shows.
In December, Newsies became the Disney production to turn a profit fastest, doing so in just 41 weeks and confirming its status as one of the biggest hits of the 2011-12 Broadway season. The show received 23 major theatrical nominations—including eight Tony Award nods—and won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Score and Choreography.

This Spring Break, Universal CityWalk is looking to entice music fans over to their new FREE Spring Music Spotlight series at the “5 Towers” concert venue. Every Friday, from March 22 though April 20 you can enjoy live street performers and music artists including “American Idol” season nine winner, Lee DeWyze, “The Voice” contentstants Artist vs. Poet featuring Joe Kirkland and Nickelodeon’s “Victorious” star Leon Thomas III.

It's been a few years since Disney purchased Club Penguin and the online gaming destination for kid's seems to be doing quite well for itself. Through corporate synergy we have seen various offline activations including charity drives and walk-around characters at Disney Parks.

Disney announced today that multiple GRAMMY® Award–winning superstar Mariah Carey has recorded the song, “Almost Home,” for “Oz The Great and Powerful,” the studio’s highly anticipated fantastical adventure, directed by Sam Raimi, releasing in theaters nationwide on March 8, 2013.

Disney finally made official its plans to go to Broadway with a full-length stage musical for ALADDIN in the Spring of 2014. A scaled down Broadway-style version of Aladdin currently plays at Disney California Adventure and Disney Cruise Line and is quite popular. The rumor of the show going to the big stage has been swirling since the theme park show debuted to high praises in 2002.
