Disney is set for a pretty massive tax write-off in 2012 thanks in part to nearly 300 million dollars in donations to charity. This year’s cash, product, and in-kind donations totaled more than $292 million to projects and communities around the world, and 586,259 VoluntEAR hours to nonprofit organizations.
These donations include the Disneyland Resort's donation to CHOC, Walt Disney World's donation to Toys for Tots, Disney Store's donation of school supplies, Disney Nature's donation to the Jane Goodall Institute, among several other donations over the year.by Published on 12-20-2012 03:41 PM
Every once in a while on the web, you might see a Photoshopping or two "real-life" reinterpretations of Disney characters. Sometimes they are spot-on and sometimes they are barely recognizable. Either way, these types of images are fun looks at how the cartoon people we've come to love might look if they were flesh and blood people.
Jirka Väätäinen is a graphic designer in Finland who achieved such a feat. It started with a general curiosity to explore character development and ended with a fully designed and digitally painted recreated Disney character. But he didn't stop at one or two... to date he has created more than a dozen Photoshop works envisioning what Disney characters might look like in "real-life!"
Jirka took some the time to chat with us about his work and we're happy to share this interview as well as a look at the pieces he's created!by Published on 12-20-2012 12:00 PMCategories:
