Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton are developing a new animated preschool Television series based on their #1 bestselling book series THE VERY FAIRY PRINCESS. The Very Fairy Princess franchise, which is part of The Julie Andrews Collection, and published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, first launched in 2010.
The animated TV series will focus on Geraldine, for whom being a very fairy princess is less about appearances than it is about knowing what makes your heart sing, and having the courage to share that with others. Slated to launch on air in 2016, the series will be jointly developed with Andrews and Walton Hamilton and produced at Nelvana Studio in Toronto.

The GeekFest Film Fest at Long Beach Comic Expo will culminate in a ‘best of’ screening voted by the audiences, followed by an award ceremony and a cash award of over $2,500 for the top film. GeekFest will be also exhibit on the convention floor, where fans can meet directors, actors, producers and chat with filmmakers one-on-one, pick up swag, and get info on upcoming GeekFest events around the country.
Long Beach Comic Expo will be held February 28- March 1, 2015.
This past weekend geeks from all over came to Long Beach for the sixth annual Long Beach Comic-Con. The event had record ticket sales and more programming than ever. This year launched the first Dwayne McDuffie Award, honoring the legendary creator by celebrating diversity in comics. Dwayne McDuffie Award will be granted the weekend of February 28, 2015 to an American comics work, published in print or digitally in 2014, deemed by the Selection Committee to promote diversity.
Also in attendance was Long Beach Mayor, Robert Garcia to announce the launch of the Dwayne McDuffie award. The fun continues with the Long Beach Comic Expo, February 28 - March 1, 2015. Tickets are available now through the website: www.longbeachcomicexpo.com.
