It's not all roses over here either.. It's not like someone is building a golden carriage at the expense of DL. Someone in charge over here is apparently just a moron - and it's taking it's toll on both coasts.

It is part of the restructuring brought on by Jay Rasulo. He has made things very complicated, from my point of view that is. He has shifted positions and created new levels of senior and executive positions along the ladder. Now decisions have to be thrown from one level of management to another in like a zigzag, bouncing off one manager to another, even going from one coast back across to the other coast, only to come back again. The approval process is filtered now having to go through more personal.

Now we have the DisneyParks marketing approach, market both resorts under one umbrella rather than having each resort manage their own marketing. This means each resort will share the same campaign theme, advertisement, slogans, etc. And yes, the executive decisions for marketing are being made out in Orlando.

This is where Toy Story Mania comes into play. Because both resorts are getting the attraction they can now market the attraction for both resorts with the same campaign. One marketing for all, they think. They believe it would be easier to keep the attractions as similar as possible, including having the same name.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get the name Midway in the title and still see commercials saying Toy Story Mania.

I believe I got the just of it.

Thats great news Marcie. I prefer the name of Toy Story Midway Mania.

Maybe they should take an online vote.

A little off topic but have you heard anything wether or not some of our letters we have sent have stirred some emotions at Disneyland in regards to WDW dictating what happens in anaheim's costuming and merchandise?

Its strange but most of the time i write to them wether it be in writing or e-mail i get somekind of response. This time around its been quiet.

    Ok back to Midway Mania

Do you know when verticle constrcuion will start or if an when we might see some art of what the outside will look like.

The bottom line is the exterior should match the theming of the ride. Toy Story Mania does not have a Victorian theme thus should not have a Victorian themed exterior. If the Pier has a Victorian theme then the ride does not belong there.

Well the vehicles have a victorian look to them and the tents and light strings could pass for victorian midway. I'm a little rusty on my victorian styles but the vehicles have a pattern typical of one victorian movement and the shape does as well.

I think it's Treasures in Paradise that has old ride vehicles on display and one of them looks very muchl ike the one in that now-famous concept art. I'll try to get a picture this weekend, if we end up making it to the resort.

It's NOT going to be cartoonish. No more than the castle or main street are cartoonish. It WILL be Disney, though... There's only a few pieces of art and yes, it is designed to look like a Midway. But it'll be a nicely themed... no cheap stucco, no sparce detail... Lasseter is very hands on this just like Nemo. The only difference is he's building from scratch... which means he can do what he wants. That's a good thing.

Oh, and the fantasyland area around Peter Pan looks NOTHING like late 1800's London so it isn't themed to the period. But it works none the less...

With all due respect, no one knows what it will look like.

I'm glad that WDI is fighting WDW on the name. It really should be Toy Story Midway Mania.
