Hoping for alot more than some new signs, pretty new flowers and a Mickey fountain. Let's see if they can exceed my expectations this go round.

Im just not overly psyched about this ride.I dont know why,maybe because I am envisioning Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters with a Woody overlay.I dont know.Just 'meh' to me.Look at what an original E ticket did for Animal Kingdom,from what I have heard Everest has really helped DAK.I wish something that grand in scale and that original comes to DCA,I think then and only then wil you see a big boost at DCA.

Midway does not excite me either. Hopefully as we begin to hear more I will be more optimistic. I am really interested in the new PP changes and how they plan to incorporate the new attraction.

Someone mentioned that Midway Mania would be the next generation in Virtual POTC like at Disney Quest. So last week I made a point to go to Disney Quest and ride it on my Florida vacation. The potential for a great ride is there. It was a lot of fun. For that matter, Disney Quest was a lot of fun. If Midway Mania uses projections and 3-D sets togther, it should be lots of fun. And one thing I learned about Imagineering while at Disney Quest was they certainly wasted a ton of money on Mission: Space since Cyberspace Mountain at Disney Quest provides a similar ride experience, without the centrifuge, and the capability to be different each time AND I'm sure it was much cheaper to create and operate. I can see why Imagineering is being looked at to trim the fat. That said, they did a fantastic job on Everest and that park needed a huge mountain ride. It literally draws people to the park and once there they discover the rest the park has to offer. DCA needs something like that. Soarin' comes close, but the theme of Everest is just amazinging carried out and will be there for a very long time. I can see Soarin' needing a change out in ten years.

If the PP redo adds incredible detail and a great ride I think that would be great. I too am more curious about the area changes than the ride at this point.

I keep reading different versions of the ride:

1) It will have guests use a device to shoot at the movie screen that reveals characters reacting to you differently in each ride. This same tech will be in TDL's TL Monster ride and is already in EPCOT's Imageworks (??)

2) It will have guests go on a ride-through version of DisneyQuest's POTC attraction.

Rumors still have the ride vehicles having 2 rows of 4 people each row sitting back to back and guests wearing 3D glasses. Also the vehicles would move about similar to IOA's Spider-man ride.

So my question is: Is it because of these two different rumors that people are not as excited about Midway Mania (not to mention the, ugh, Toy Story theme minus Buzz).

I'm quite excited about the PP makeover myself as well.

Interesting thought about Mission:SPACE & DisneyQuest's CyberSpaceMountain, sweeper. I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if MS continues to have problems, they would switch it for CSM. I guess a point for MS was for WDI's chance to be able to use the centrifuge technology- taking an old ride and Disney-fying it (much like many of Disney park's attractions). But that idea didn't go as well as they hoped.

I also enjoyed DisneyQuest very much . Kinda sad to see it go. I truly hope they put the most popular DQ attractions elsewhere in the parks instead of scrap metal.

sadly I just dont think it will be much more then that! but who knows. plans at disney always change!
