things at disney do change, but at DCA, things get canned and budgets get cut.
So if the plan right now is for nothing more than some flowers, signs and paint, then I doubt very seriously the project will expand beyond that.
I am learning to lower my expectations on projects for DCA, and maybe this will cause me to be pleasantly surprised.

Id be more than happy if they just fixed the sightline problem behind Screamin',if they JUST did that I think Id be satisfied. Its a terrible eyesore walking up through the pier entrance and seeing the convention center,Ive always hated that.

I wouldnt be too disapointed if the Paradise Pier rennovation/remodelling is in scope with teh Hollywood backlot remodelling. While they didnt do a whole lot to that hollywood area, what they DID do made a huge difference. If PP gets that same treatment,Id be satisfied.
but as Ive said before,if they are gonna do this remodelling,I hope they address the sightline problem, hopefully thats on the top of the list for fixes.

the only way they would be able to block the convention center, hilton and the other ugly hotel would be to demolish them or get some extremely large trees. Seriously though whats up with anaheim and that ugly convention structure.

If they rebuilt the Screamin queue and made it taller/bigger it would block alot of it too.

Visit the MIBoards.com Guidelines Page for rules and regulations.
DCA is a creative and marketing failure. It's so bad, it's good. That's the unofficial motto of DCA.

i don't tink a taller and bigger queue would look proportional to the rest of the land. it would just make the coaster look small

That would make sense because it's obvious that Disney isn't very interested in spending money on re-doing areas of the parks.
More theming is always great, but I never liked the Victorian idea. I hope they simply enhance the current theme. The more modern pier is a better fit for Midway Mania anyway.

The sightlines behind the pier are distracting, but I realized the other day that there are palm trees behind Screamin' that get smaller in size the further back they are. It doesn't help cover up the power lines or anything, but I thought it was a nice illusion that gives a sense of depth behind Screamin.
On subject, I am eager to see what they do with the area to get rid of its cheap feel. I hate walking through that area of the park. It was so shocking when my friend and I were walking through the area and he turned to me and said, "This reminds me of Six Flags." I thought he was joking, but he was dead serious. And then it hit me too, those Midway games and bland stucko DO feel like Six Flags. Oh my god...it was heartbreaking to know that a Disney theme park reminds you of Magic Mountain.Last edited by disneycharacter; 08-03-2006 at 11:23 PM.
