A lot of people have said that WoC wouldn't work at TDS anyways because of it's "in the round" viewing area combined with the one-sided nature of WoC. After thinking about it, I don't think that's really a big issue. All of the main viewing areas in their lagoon are adjacent to the Mira Costa hotel (a.k.a. - on one side of the lagoon). Yes, there's viewing areas from other parts of the lagoon, but they don't give the best view of the show (similar to how you could view WoC from other parts of PP but it wouldn't be ideal). I think WoC could easily be configured to fit in TDS. Whether or not they do it, though, is another story.

I really hope World of Color DOES NOT go into Tokyo. I'm not usually against cloning, but this ride was made specifically for DCA, and I wanted it to be exclusive to the park. This is a way to boost attendence for DCA, Tokyo does not need it. DCA need that something special that's unique it's park. Please, leave World of Color exclusive to DCA!

Anyone else posting large volumes of detail photos on the lagoon besides Darkbeer and MintCrocodile? New stuff was beginning to happen in the last shots I saw, and I can't seem to wait for more, I'm wondering if anyone else is getting detail shots and posting as well.

Unfortunately, I won't be heading to the resort this weekend but you can view past updates and pictorials by myself at the Articles forum here:

Steve Davison gave a presentation today about WOC. Some new concept art and such can be found below. Video will be available soon!

    http://www.mouseinfo.com/gallery/sea...&quicksearch=1

Some notes on what was revealed...

    MUSIC

Amy Grant is the signature voice for the show.
Mark Hammond and Dave Hamilton are composing the music for the show
The soundtrack is being recorded in London with a 100 piece orchestra
According to Steve, it's a massive soundtrack but there's parts of the show with no soundtrack at all, which he noted was a teaser.

    DAYTIME

Once the show premieres, there ARE plans to have on the hour or on the half hour mini water shows during the day.

    CHANGING IT UP

Steve Davison confirmed that the show will not be "static" (his words) and that it would be ever changing. The plan is to have the planned encores (when the show is over) to be constantly changing and rotating to feature the newest movies etc. When possible they'd also be changing out parts of the actual show with new parts, as well. He mentioned Rapunzel being a relevant option that might be phased in later once the show starts.

In that regard, he said he's most definitely interested in using the new infastructure for new shows including a Luminaria 2.0. He noted that he was especially excited because of all the new fire effects that will be available for WOC.

    CONTINGENCIES

It was also revealed that when crowds demanded, that second showings would be made. Davison noted, the great thing about World of Color is that unlike fireworks for Fantasmic etc this show doesn't have to be "reloaded" and unlike Fantasmic there is no cast members, so second showings would be extremley easy to coordinate at the last minute.

Also, tests have been done in windy parts of Japan and that the fountains perform remarkably well in not misting and soaking nearby audiences so they have little worries about the show's availability due to weather conditions.

    NOT A MOVIE

They kept emphasizing that the show IS NOT going to be a movie shown on water but it would really be an experience and seeing characters etc in all new ways.

That last part about not being a movie is what I think is the most important aspect of this show.

sounds good, can't wait for Luminara 2

gotta say I'm actually most curious about this day show prospect, seems like there'll be alot of reason to hang around the Pier if they can get it working right. Gotta admit that presently the Pier's just been that one area I move through as quick as possible, hitting up the rides and ignoring all else. It'll be nice to have something to slow me down a bit.

I gotta say though, they'd better do something about the shade for that part of the park.

Will they run the wave machines much if they run the fountains midday though? Then again I'm sure running the fountains will do plenty to stir up some waves in the Pier area

Yeah, the whale made of water, for instance, sounds really cool. Lots of really cool looking stuff, he showed us the CG rendering for the Incredibles portion and it really will be just incredible, definitely nothing we've seen before.
