I think Mother Nature is doing the job for them.

According to Al Lutz, World of Color will be utilizing a new thing called "Showpass". This is too help ease the large crowds that are excpected.

Click here for the article (go halfway down the page).

The basics: The Showpass machines will be located where the old It's Tough to Be A Bug Fastpass machines were. Showpass is just like Fastpass. There will be 9,000 tickets per day, and they will be sold out on a first come, first serve basis. Only the 9,000 people with tickets will be allowed in the viewing area.

Is this similar to the ticket lottery used at TDL for the viewing area in front of the castle?

^ Sounds like it. Seems like a decent idea to me. Not sure how it'll work out in the long run, but I think it might be beneficial. Maybe it'll actually cut down on the number of people that try to cram in where there's absolutely no room left like at Fantasmic! That always annoys me when I try to view the show in any of the standing areas....people shove their way in like there's no tomorrow.
