Oh you're right, I think they tested the Fantasmic Maleficent in the Superstar Limo building, not the lagoon.

Are you sure? Why would they need a dragon on Superstar Limo if that ride is getting a loop? Loops are infinitely more cool than dragons, IMHO.

So i've been debating whether to post anything i gleamed from this one encounter or not, but since it's the day after turkey day, we've got no news, and i'm bored..
Long story short: I had a "date" of sorts with someone who works for DLR, unbeknownst to myself prior to the actual meeting. Someone who said to have connections, know this person or that person, and sadly got into a pissing match with me over how imagineering works and the marketing structure of DLR. It got heated/insulting enough for me to end the whole ordeal abruptly..
That said, the bit I gleamed, and taken with a grain of salt, is that there is a chance of WoC being delayed because the projectors were pulled to use for Ghost Galaxy. Whole long sad story (which i'm still not sure I believe) is that: Apparently the manufacturer can't provide that many total projectors (ghost galaxy and world of color) in the allotted amount of time, ghost galaxy was pushed up before it was ready by marketing creating the fiasco, yadda yadda, blame game, it's all marketing's fault, but there's no way to hold marketing accountable for making promises that imagineering can't keep.
Oh, and it's a company, it's a job, there's nothing special about Disney, and striving for perfection is a silly thing to do - one should be focused on getting their paycheck to survive in the industry.
So yeah.. projectors delaying the whole thing. Oh, and the Fantasmic dragon was delayed because the manufacturer delivered it sans a part/piece/something because it was rushed and that again is all marketing's fault.. but there is again no way to hold them accountable, or so i'm told.

That theory from your date doesn't make any sense.

Ghost Galaxy ended a month ago. If they borrowed projectors from WoC, when the lagoon was still as dry as a bone, they could have them back a month ago. They haven't had any mist screens to test projectors with in the first place, and they still don't. So how could that delay the April 2010 premiere?
