Thanks bucky! I'm not sure which bridge you're referencing?

Wont the waterline also go up once the WOC platform is submerged? I'm not sure if that makes up the difference in the waterline, but it should account for part of it.
    With this ring...

I think the water rise from submersion of that platform will be incredibly insignificant. Maybe a half an inch or less. When it is submerged, they will let some air out of the floater tanks, thereby causing some water intake to replace the air. That alone compensates for some of it. The rest - the projector housings, metal, grating, and nozzles are virtually insignificant. Think about how much the water in your bathtub would rise if you droped five or six dinner plates in there.

I believe Bucky is correct and that the waterline is essentially already at its max. The projector houses appear to already have the water to their base, so if the water does go up further, I can't imagine it being more than another inch or two.

i think thats a great analogy, simba. its likely at extremely close to its max, especially since they are testing. you want to test in as real as conditions as you are going to have, no point in testing in situations which aren't comparable to the real deal at this point in the game

WoC will be a huge draw and a fantastic show. That said, I'm still not convinced at this "insider report" that suggests the reason for the BVS delay is because of them worried about the crowds. Regardless of that fact, though, I don't think anyone involved in the DCA makeover thinks that WoC makes a theme park. If they did, there would be no Mermaid or Carsland that are already deep into construction, in case you hadn't noticed.
I am a little disappointed that they're delaying BVS, but it does kind of make sense if they're planning to give WOC a big push not to have the crowds that show up have to walk through a construction site to get to it. It probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to get a few things such as the new turnstyles finished before WOC opened to speed things up once full-scale construction starts, but that ship has sailed I suppose.

I was curious about the platform. How far will the platform be submerged? Right now it looks like very bad show.

When not in use, the platform will fully submerge. There should be little, if anything, above the water line. It's in maintenance mode right now because it's not finished.

When it comes showtime (after dark) the platform will rise up so that nozzles are up out of the water, but the rest of the platform will remain under water. It will only be up out of the water like it is now when they are doing maintenance on it.
