Those spots are from the rig in front of the Screamin' launch and the other rig inbetween the swings and the Zephyr. Each rig has 5 spot lights. they're the same as the 6 located on top of the 6 light towers. These are different from the 'bubble' encased spots that line the viewing area. There's 24 of those I've seen so far, but the rig right next to the pier bridge was not up... so I don't know if there's 6 more in there or perhaps something else...

On occasion you can see water shooting up near Mickey's face. I shouldn't have posted that you can view... people keep moving the camera in all sorts of random ways... just leave it still!

You also have posted more pix lol.

Well, in the newer pix you've updated you can see them using the 6 spots from the 6 lighthouses.

If there is nobody controlling the camera after a minute or so, it starts zipping through all the presets automatically.

I'm guessing that Disney's California Adventure will eventually have the same hours as Disneyland but I dont think World Of Color will run at the same time Disneyland does their fireworks.

Yes, there are 24 of the little Vari*Lites by the viewing area, on four poles. The two smaller vaults flanking the stage, as well as two more back in the viewing area, would be able to hold temporary stage lighting. Those Vari*Lites are *really* versatile, they have at least two gobo rings which can rotate - a straight sunburst gobo rotated over a stationary spiral gobo could do some psychedelic spirals, "breakup" gobo spinning over straight lines gobo to add sparkle to water, etc. as well as full color mixing, and they'll probably be used to scan the audience with patterns as much as scanning the show itself. One can imagine the possible impact of the ending, when overpowering might is done through every possible effect working together, boosted by colored patterns flowing out of the lagoon and over/through the audience!

Another note about gobos: There are hundreds if not thousands of gobos available commercially, everything from random patterns to images to logos, as well as multicolor dichroic glass ones... but it's not expensive to have custom gobos made. So there's really no telling what these might be loaded with: Paradise Pier or DCA logos to set on the viewing area after the show are a possibility, or icons of Disney characters, but I'm betting at least some of them will be flames, water lines, random pretty patterns, or breakups (random designs intended to add texture).

I can't remember if this is the exact model in use, but it's similar at least:
    VL3500Q Spot - Vari-Lite - Philips Entertainment

Click gobos to see what comes standard (remember any of these can be swapped out, and every fixture could have different ones). Just using the stock patterns: Pit rotating gobo Glacier against stationary gobo Pebbles for twinkling sparkles. Pit the rotating (multi)Color Gobo against pebbled-glass Ice Blocks for rippling multicolors. But again, there's absolutely no telling what they put in them, save to say that I think it's possible, even likely, that WoC designers saw the full potential and installed lots of non-stock or even custom patterns.

Also: Have seen video footage of more stuff testing. The line of Chasers shown in the link above, lit blue, are not all working, in the photo and the video. Never fear: Dubai Fountain looked absolutely pitiful during testing, and it all very quickly came together. Also in video: Grids, full pressure in pale mauve, very bright...and groups of Whips in medium blue in motion, their light beams still cutting visible paths through the brighter Grids; Dancers in action, moving and spinning, looking exactly like Waltzing Waters' spinners but panning and tilting. The motion of the Whips is very smooth. Still have not seen spinning Whip fans (many of these have had the fan nozzles and/or the nozzle-spin drive motors temporarily removed for some reason), Fire Whips in action, Blow Pops, or any further footage of the Butterflies, which were installed, tested and, it seems, removed again...? The one shown in daytime test videos is not in its location in daytime maintenance-level photos shot less than a week later.

    Thanks for the info.

So, if there are 24 Vari*Lites in front of the viewing area, I counted that many when 4 of the 5 poles were up. The box that sits right next to the bridge was not open. It's the same size as the other boxes, do we know what's in there?

Wait, wait... There *should* be four Vari*Lite towers, which each also have a large curved speaker array. One should be at the front-center of the outer curve of the viewing area's stage, with two smaller vaults for stage lighting towers flanking it. Then, there should be two more Vari*Lite/speaker towers on the Zephyr side, and one more on the bridge side...

Is there one closer to the bridge than this?

Directly above this tower's lights, in the background, is one of the two far towers. Also in the (nearer) background, to the left, are visible the three stage vaults: the two smaller for stage lights (open, towers not extended) flanking one WoC light/sound in the middle/far left with sloped hatch (closed). WoC light/sound tower vaults have hatch covers sloped toward the water, while the vaults for the stage-lighting towers (both those behind the stage and two more up in the viewing area) have flat, level hatch covers.
