They did some major testing while the park had guests in it the other day. Does anyone have video of that???

Yeah, mods, I'd recommend that since we've seen actual programming scenes from the show, that only more spoilers are to come. So, do you think we should put something like 'spoilers from 2/13 on' in the title or perhaps start another thread (I don't know if we have enough traffic to warrant two threads)?

I'm sure in the next few weeks as we start getting videos of testing of various segments of the show that we'll begin discussing what is going on and how scenes will play out etc.

I'll happily take all the spoilers I get. I understand that many may not like to see them, and it might be kind of us to post "SPOILER ALERT" at the top of posts showing much of show programming or the like, giving readers a notice so they can skip sections if wanted. I'll do this myself if I have anything too detailed to post. I may also this regarding rumors or speculation, if it's about potential big effects.

On that note, there is a rumor going around that the plumbing and wiring being added to the viewing area may be for more than just irrigation systems.

    SPOILER ALERT:
We already know that the Vari*Lites will be able to scan the viewing area, bathing it in color or sending gobo patterns moving across the audience. But rumors continue to spread about what other ways the show might come to the audience. The post lantern and pillar light globes show a shadow inside when lit, prompting speculation that they also contain LED arrays so they'll change color; streetlight luminaires similar to those now lining the parade route have been made in color-changing format as well, though there's no confirmation yet that those at DCA have this feature.

My opinion about water effects for the viewing area is that so-called laminar nozzles would be the best bet. They can jump over pathways without dripping, can be illuminated from within and color changed, and commercially-available add-ons can spray mist at the surface, making the entire arch glow or sending visible pulses of light traveling along the stream. These could jump both over the paths as well as out into the lagoon, but the latter would require some serious distance. So far, I haven't seen much construction of anything notable in the planters, so I can't comment yet.

By this point in the game all that could possibly be left to discuss would really be what can only be classified as "spoilers." Videos don't play themselves, afterall, so caveat emptor or in this case, let the user beware!

Click around in this thread at your own risk of being exposed to SPOILERS!

I wonder how it will eventually fill in with whatever vine they put on it.

I assume they'll keep it nice and open on the sides (wrap the lead vines real tight around the poles) and then let it fill in on top.

They should be very pleasant features when they fill in.

Sounds about right. I wish they'd go that route for the main entrance instead of ripping of DHS's ugly entrance.
