I saw some sort of drawing of DCAs entrance done up like that, with the nice look of BVS carrying into the entrance, with the soft brown walls making the structure and wooden trellaces lining the top with greenery covering the trellaces as well as filling in planters inbetween entrance gates (sort of similar to the ToT garden I guess). It looked amazing and very welcoming...

Here's hoping the Disney Studios entrance... works...

So, workwise on the platform, it looks like they're doing fine tuning, and replacing various features that aren't working... I think I've seen a few fountains replaced, I know one of the platform projectors was replaced a week or so ago, and also there's that big hole in the platform right now...

I may go tonight for a bit, wonder if I'll see anyting.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

    Yeah that's the hole!

I'll take my phone... if anything is epic, I'll snap a pixelated pic.

Well, one of the butterfly fountains is back out there again. They have two moving spray bars, with LED bars attached. A nozzle (with a flow valve to control the effect's speed) shoots water at an aluminum paddlewheel, which drives a sprocket gear via a bicycle chain. Two eccentric cranks off this sprocket drive vertical pushrods which move the spray bars up and down. Photos on page 88 of the Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker IX over at MiceChat. It also has two jets on the front for antennae.

This thing is going to be a technical and maintenance nightmare. I'm sure though they will have a full-time team dedicated to maintenance and repair of this juggernaut.

Knowing Disney in recent years, this show is going to either:

-operate flawlessly for a long time, becoming a park staple.
-spend most of its first year broken and inoperable before a complete retooling, which ends up draining the budget from some other DCA project.
Yes, our world has indeed become a world of motion. We have engineered marvels that take us swiftly over land and sea, through the air, and into space itself. And still bolder and better ideas are yet to come. Ideas that will fulfill our age old dream to be free. Free in mind. Free in spirit. Free to follow the distant star of our ancestors to a brighter tomorrow. - World of Motion (1982-1996)

Just looking at all of those tubes, jets, cables, etc makes me anxious. I could not imagine the amount or brain power needed to problem solve issues. I'll just enjoy the show and have great respect for the technical people behind the scene.
