Ordered ours for the 21st. Really not a bad deal IMO opinion as they aren't much more than a standard meal would be in the park and you get "preferred" seating. We'll see exactly what preferred means...hope its good.

We only paid $12.99 btw, looks like they applied an AP discount of $2.00 per meal for us (they were $14.99 reg price, right?)

I talked to Dine Line a few days ago, and they seemed to say there would be an annual pass discount on the picnic meals. I paid $12.99, so it kinda looks like it. Might also be for visa card members. I wasn't paying much attention to what they had said, but she asked if i had a pass and then mentioned the lower price.

ETA: They also said there was going to be 425 picnic meals per show of World of Color.

Thanks for the info. Also noticed that Picnic Meals are for a reserved section while the higher priced meals are preferred.

Sorry :\... Apparently the 2nd showing picnics are sold only in person at the winery on the day of the show. You could do that...

Any rumblings on the supposed 3rd showing? My friends and I are interested in possibly watching another showing from like... the back or something.

Really hoping that this dining combo and FastPass system work out myself. I know that it will be a bit of a mess at first and will take a while to calm down, especially since the first few days will be mayhem. But I think it will be beneficial in the end, and I think that it's a good idea. Lot's of options for everyone. The camping out option is simply not fair to the guests who rarely visit DLR, or for first time visitors.

The crowds will be huge, but I also think that with out any sort of crowd control system, and having it as a free for all would be far worse. The days of seeing things casually as they happen are gone. Disney trips have to be planned almost like clockwork if you want to see everything. There are really no off season these days. And seeing Fireworks F! or parades requires that you find a spot an hour or more (usually more in the case of F!) if you want to see it.

Should the viewing area have been bigger? Yes. But there was definitely a limitation on space in the park itself. You can't compare what they do in WDW to what they do at DLR because WDW is 43 sq. mi., the size of a small city. So I'm uncertain what they could have done. Standing areas needed to be flat, that's for sure. The tiers were a good idea. Will short people like me get miss parts of the show? Yes. But I'm used to that; BTW 6'8" guy? Do you really have to stand in front of the shortest person here?

They may eventually get rid of the FastPass/Dining package system, but I want it to work out. I don't really understand why people want to go back to the camp out system, it makes no sense to me.
