To me, it looks like they're constantly tweaking/working on the fountains just to keep them straight or whatever they might be doing. Then again, they're not always out there. Even right after the show, they come out in their little boats and start doing something to some of the fountains...

I recall seeing all of the platforms lowered so you cannot see them during the day since WoC started. But i've seen more of some parts of the platforms raised with work going on. I would guess that as the show gets into a routine and the matinence is well take care of, they will have the show platforms out of sight.

No one answered my question a few pages ago so I will ask again:
For those of you that have gone, if you get the fastpass, are you in an area where you are squished together with other people like sausages or is there a nice amount of space?
Also, what time in the morning should we arrive at DCA next week to make sure we get fastpasses for WOC?Terry - Proud SAHM to three boys and a girl!

The viewing areas are all left intentionally unfilled so you can scoot back and be away from hoards of people. There's plenty of room to stretch out.
I'd really try to get to the park at opening although I've heard of people getting to the park past 1 and even 2 and still able to get Fastpasses. If you're going during the week, even more likely.Joey AKA "dlfreak"

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

Oddly enough, it seems like Saturdays have been the easiest days to get FP (mainly cause all AP's except Premiums are blocked). I'd recommend checking the AP calendar to see who's blocked/unblocked on the day you're going. That might determine how early you need to get to DCA.

Saw it for the first time last Friday. We got to DCA about 20 minutes before opening and they were already letting people get their FPs. It took us 30 minutes to get to the front of the line. I've also heard reports of FPs still being given out later in the day. So you don't have to get there right away in the morning. When I go again, I'm either going to go really early or in the afternoon only because I don't want to wait in that line again. I'm sure the line is worst around opening. And they didn't pack us in like sardines, there was plenty of room left around us.
I'll add my little review: I was blown away by the size of this thing. It left us speechless. My favorite effect was the waves projected onto the mist during the Ariel sequence. Very impressive. Even though I knew it was coming, I bawled during the Lion King/So Close scene. I didn't think that scene plus that song would work out as well as it did. I thought the show was a little too long. Scenes like Up didn't fit well since it only took up a few seconds. I love that there wasn't a narrative or story. This show didn't need one and worked well without it. Overall, a great show! Can't wait to watch it again.Everybody’s got a laughing place. Trouble is, most folks won’t take the time to go look for it. And where it is for one, it mightn’t be for another.

I'm looking forward later in the year for both the current Fantasmic and WOC, with all their use of lasers, when the temps are cooler and the humidity higher causing the water droplets to spread out more. To me the interaction of those beams with the fine sprays was fascinating.

I have some comments about World of Color. The show is great, but I cannot give it my top rating because it closes down ALL of the Paradise Pier attractions except Toy Story Midway Mania. It's nonsense that Screamin', Mulholland Madness and Maliboomer are kept closed.
Here are a few notes, since many Disney fans have been giving poor information. Maybe I shouldn't share this, but here you go.
- The show is easier to see when Select and Southern California passholders are blocked and its even easier when Deluxe passes are blocked as well, but as I experienced today it's possible to see the show without too much trouble when no passes are blocked and the parks are packed.
- Monday, June 21 - There was a huge FastPass line at 1:13 pm. I waited 21 minutes and received the 11:15pm show, yellow section.
- Friday, June 18 - I picked up a FastPass at 2:00 pm for the 11:15 pm show, yellow section and there was no line for FastPass.
- The colors for the sections do not change like some at Mice Age have been insisting. That is a quote from the guest services manager who oversees that end of the park.
- Dining packages are not sold out as many Disney fanatics are reporting. Tonight (Mon) I got a World of Color dining package by simply walking up to the Trattoria at 7:15 pm (seated on the spot) for the 2nd show (10:15 pm). Dinner is an expensive option.
- You don't need to be at the front of your respective color queue to get awesome spots. In other words, you don't need to show up earlier than the designated return time on your FastPass. I left the 10:15 pm and joined the end of the yellow color queue tonight for the 11:15pm show and got a great spot for the show.
- Yellow section is by far the most packed section.
- You will get very wet if you stand on the boardwalk. You've been warned, so buy a poncho or come prepared.
Overall, I don't like the FastPass concept for this show. It creates crowds and causes unnecessary anxiety. The ladies behind me in the line today were bitching about it for the entire 21 minutes.
I believe they're using FastPass to prevent the "worst passholders" from further abusing the park and giving Disney's most valuable patrons (hotel guests, tourists and day visitors) the advantage. With FastPass you can't just show up at the park after work, watch World of Color and go home.
These same passholders are the ones I saw tonight sitting on blankets at 6:00 pm for the 9:00 pm Fantasmic. Who in their right mind sits down 3 hours before the show begins? Only passholders. A family on their vacation doesn't have 3 hours to waste like that. They're also the same passholders who monopolize the space and see both shows of Fantasmic.
So FastPass is kind of a broken fix and the real solution is for Disney to eliminate the Select passes, further increase prices on all of the rest of the passes and eliminate park hopping on Southern California passes, limit entry times on Southern California passes on select days, and block park hopping for Deluxe passes on most weekends and many Fridays. That would really help. These people who stop in for a couple of hours don't spend money and they inconvenience the guests who do.
