Question:
is the entire length of the Screamin structure used for the display? (This show is certainly a great argument for wide angle lenses!)

You can see in my video it goes all the way to the other side of the Fun Wheel too, it's AMAZING!

Troncore is really amazing! I love how it "glitches" from the regular ending to the Troncore and then back. Really cool stuff!

Thanks for that hi-def video, dlfreak! I've got the dining package reserved for Saturday night (FINALLY at the Wine Country Trattoria!) and can't wait to see it live!

The platform was back to show height during the day on Saturday. I hope someday they work on those projector boxes to make them look less plasticy.

So... I was at DCA yesterday... and caught the 9pm showing of WoC... yup.
Got a pass at 2pm for the red zone. Said to show up at 815, so, we did, looks like they had been letting people in for quite a while... whatever. Got a spot a couple people back from the water a bit to the side of the viewing area, right near one of the right side light towers.
WHAT A HORRIBLE VIEW!
Honestly. I've gone on before about how the show is an utter failure when it comes to viewing (as well as mechanical performance)... but sheesh... you could not see anything. Sure, I know the show, but it amazed me... if this was my 1st time seeing the show, I would say it's horrible. You can't see any of the projections (especially the front ones), often things would be going on so far to the side that you'd have no idea what it was, and the fire was barely working at all on the right side for the show.
I dunno, I figured I'd vent... but it just absolutely amazes me that this huge show they've designed can truly only be seen from within a 15 degree window from the front center. That is simply a horrible design failure...Pura Vida

Preach on! That's one thing that really bums me out too.
Finally watched a hi-def video of the show in dead-center and it's amazing how sharp the projections are...but get slightly out of that sweet spot and you have to forego comprehending what the image is.
For all the merits of WoC...it has absolutely failed in being a show for the entire audience. It's very clear that it was designed from one central point of view all the way through. For being a 360 degree viewing platform, I really question the decisions made by Steve Davidson.
But then again, I don't really give a crap about the projections...I go to see the incredible fountains and that's where WoC delivers.

I completely agree with the two above statements. My wife and I saw the show from the Red Zone on Saturday night. It sucks from that side of the viewing area. Yes, you can see all of the fountains and some of the lazers, but you get none of the projections and most of the lazers are not visible from the side. All of these failures would be fine if the pace didn't rely on long periods of just projections. The fountains do look spectacular from any angle, but maybe 15 minutes spectacular, not 30 minutes spectacular.
The fact that the viewing area and show was built from the ground up on a completely empty lagoon and more than half of the viewing area cannot see 75% of the show in incomprehensible. I hope that Davison realizes his mistakes and fixes them for Fantasmic. It's going to suck if you can't see that show from all around the Disney Seas lagoon. Personally, I think Fantasmic is doomed to fail in Japan. They've already tried to redo it once and it sucks (except for the fact that you can sit in a seat and drink a beer).
Basically, here's the issue with all of the Steve Davison designed "spectaculars, whether it be the fireworks at Disneyland that are designed to be viewed from the hub only to World of Color: They're designed from one spot and totally disregard the rest of the park. That works if you are making a show in a theater with the audience in a fixed, seated area but not in a theme park! Bring back Barnette Ricci! So there.
