The little grey area is the ride, the brown around it should be the grotto/lake/queue/meet-greet.

Use that along with the previous photo of the area showing 'small world' and Haunted Mansion explicitly and you can see that Mermaid is itty-bitty in comparison.

It's much more akin to a Fantasyland dark ride like Pooh or Peter Pan.

Its actually about 50% bigger than Peter Pan (which runs 2.5 minutes at DL), but you are correct in that Mansion and Small world are much larger than Mermaid. It still should be a very nice "D" ticket ride lasting approx. 4-5 minutes.

I don't think length should be an issue. As long as it's immersive and has great effects, then that is what will rank the attraction. I do think it will be a huge step above your standard Fatasyland dark ride, but not exactly an E-Ticket. Probably a really high D-Ticket.
