Agreed about the blue - though I cannot pass judgment until I see it in person. It could be stunning against SoCal's beautifully blue sky - I assume the color was also chosen to wear down gracefully as the sun beats the building. Just a few shades of wear and the roofing will look broken in. Only reason I say this is because they did a great deal of work on the patina of the other roof spires, which contrasts quite vividly against the brand new blue.
The building is a stunner though - so much more than I thought it was going to be.

I figured they were going to "age" the blue before it opened to more closely match the elements installed above the bright blue roofing. You can see what I mean here above the last section of curved roof:

Looks good either way, but I think it would look a lot better if they did age it.

What is the name of the willow trees being placed infront of the little mermaid attraction?

Since I first saw the roof, I've been wondering if they'd do something to the blue. It's a pretty color but is really overpowering right now, especially because the building is so huge.
Looking at that concept art from Blue Sky Cellar, I think the rotunda and main building still clash pretty strongly at this point. Hopefully when the paint is all finalized, the rotunda will just be a slightly brighter color palette than the ride building to make it pop/give the area some depth. I get what they were trying to do on the concept art, but at this incomplete stage in construction, the reality doesn't look as nice as the concept.
I'm starting to feel pretty confident that this building will be gorgeous when it's all done, though.

Judging from the photos posted on the latest Dateline Disneyland on MiceAge, the rotunda clashes completely with the rest of the show building. The colors don't match at all.

I'm not as appalled by it...but I will say the last few decisions that have surfaced around Paradise Pier are head-scratchers for me - especially the new park.
The rotunda was never well-integrated into the design of the Mermaid showbuilding. There are a lot more Corinthian notes on the rotunda that aren't translated into the rest of the structure. The structure is almost...neo-classic with hints of French? I don't even know. So the fact that they didn't use the same color scheme for the rotunda seems to show that they want to divide the structure into two visual planes. They're VERY playful colors and I guess it will come down to if you like that style or not.
I'm really not sure how I feel. If it were me in that meeting, I would have spent hours to get the roof color changed before they went to manufacture it. Everything else is set off against that intense blue...then you add teal, orange, seafoam and various greens...it's a party.
On the other hand, I get what they're going for. It's a large building that looks more complex with varying color scheme. Simultaneously I don't get it though...
EDIT - Here's what I mean:

PHOTOS COURTESY OF MICECHAT AND THE DCA PROJECT TRACKER
Very small change in hue on the roof - very small tint on the showbuilding...totally different outcome.
