I wouldn't say they got "new" rides. Just LMA and Soarin' (which were both exact clones). Disneyland got Astro Blasters (which was not an exact clone), an updated Space Mountain, a plussed Jungle Cruise, a remastered Tiki Room, a new film, a new parade, a new fireworks show, and a general upkeep on all attractions. WDW is lucky if it gets what Disneyland got in five years, let alone one year.
Did WDW get all the attention for Disneyland's 50th? Most of it, but you could say the same for Hong Kong Disneyland which opened during the 50th. Did it get all the new rides? No.Yes, our world has indeed become a world of motion. We have engineered marvels that take us swiftly over land and sea, through the air, and into space itself. And still bolder and better ideas are yet to come. Ideas that will fulfill our age old dream to be free. Free in mind. Free in spirit. Free to follow the distant star of our ancestors to a brighter tomorrow. - World of Motion (1982-1996)

But what will they do for Florida's 50th Anniversary? That will be interesting to see. But it's all long ways away.

Sorry to continue the off-topic discussion here, but I just got back from WDW and had to address this:
I can confirm 100% that WDW uses front projectors. They are easily spotted above the opposite side screens, above the awnings. The images are clearly seen on the "lens" of the projector. While I can't speak to the quality of the projectors at one park vs. the other, I can confirm is that TSMM looked beautiful at DHS, and the projectors are front projectors located above the awnings.
And this:
Again, just getting back from WDW, and my first trip in 4 years, here's what was new/better/different since my last visit:
Soarin (new), Expedition Everest (new), Finding Nemo musical (new), Haunted Mansion (many upgrades, including staircase room, amazing floating Leota head - better than DL's visually, great new projections of the singing busts, and beautiful crisp stereo audio in the doom buggies, just to name a few), Lights, Motors, Action (new), TSMM (new), ToT (new drop sequences - if memory serves), PotC (updated with Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, soundtrack and sound system, fog curtain Davy Jones, etc), Living with the Land (minor upgrades, "unmanned" boats, etc), Spaceship Earth (debateable whether it's an upgrade or not, but it's an "update" nevertheless), Stitch's Escape (meh... but it's new/updated anyway), Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (didn't see it so I can't comment, but it's new), Seas w/ Nemo (new/updated). And if you want to bump that up to 5 years instead of just 4, you can add Mickey's Philharmagic and Mission Space.
There may be others that elude me right now. Point being, I think you're selling things a bit short in Florida in terms of updates/upgrades.

I seem to used to remember that about 5 years ago everyone always was bellyaching that WDW got all the new stuff.

You can find it on this page: http://micechat.com/forums/disneylan...acker-118.html
All looks good! Guess we now know for sure what is happening with the Orange Stinger.

here is a link to more artwork like mentioned of not just the mermaid building but other attraction makeovers. Notice how they are progressing and changing from the original artwork. As for detail and care is added to the project some of these slight delays occur but at the end the place is going to look awesome
