There's a fair amount of demolition and construction and they'll probably need to do all of the demo at once so they probably want to finish the new bathrooms (currently under construction) before they rip the old ones out. Plus, keep in mind, that removing the bathrooms was not part of the original plan, ie not part of the original timetables so work that could have and should have been planned for right now is on hold until the bathrooms are ready.

They're even expanding the building for the bathrooms towards GRR, probably to make better use of the brick building closer to the Golden State Park as a shop or quick service. From Saturday:

    most congruently

It's easy and cheep to just smash all of the Golden Dreams complex at once rather then waste time trying to surgically separate it from the bathrooms so they can stay open while they build the other bathrooms. Easier to just finish the other bathrooms then smash the whole thing (hit the ground running sort of a thing I hopes)

I think they'll have enough trouble trying to bring the current dome structure into the new design as it is no n33d for extra surgical construction work

Plus, you can't do foundation work on the new building where there's an existing building in the way that's regularly occupied with guests.

I'd really like to see a Beaux-Arts styled hotel inspired by the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (San Francisco 1915, where the Palace of Fine Arts came from). I envision a grand building of stone with glass domes/roofs, and at least part of the interior being Art Nouveau.

I think it would completely fit with the look they're going for on the north side of the bay.

Looks similar to Balboa Park in San Diego. Just the SF version is much grander!

Does anyone think that they might not demolish the existing golden dreams building and restroom facality?
Somehow i have a feeling that they will leave the main structure standing and just gut them out. Then remove walls where needed and expand the building around them.

The reason i say this is because if you play close attention to the main show scene for the attraction it has a similiar layout to the existing Golden Dreams theater.

possible but I'd hope not, I mean the existing facility is pretty darned tiny in the grand scheme of things and I'd hate to see them constrained much by it's size and other limitations.

I'd figured the similarity in shape had more to do with the size and shape of the expansion pad. I mean it is being squeezed in between alot of existing structures and only absorbing a bit of extra space here and there. Either way it looks like the building will be slightly larger to me.

I REALLY hope they dig some of this underground cause otherwise this ride will be shorter then HM and even maybe Monsters (unless I'm forgetting how the size compares spatially)

^Ish was talking about the bathrooms, not the theatre. You're right Ish, they might leave the facade and supporting wall of the restroom intact.

At any rate, I combined the current overview with the BSC rendering and then overlayed the two for comparison...

As a sidenote, people keep commenting how big the new bathrooms will be you can see in the rendering, that they only highlighted half of the space for restrooms. Then again, it doesn't highlight the extension on the GRR side that they are currently adding on.
