The Sea Beach Hotel and the Casino - #59
the Casino on the right side would also be a perfect queue for Screamin. Something tall and impressive

i could actually see a reverse of that built so that the rotunda is on the right side.
Then they could put the carousel inside the rotunda and the rest of the building could be queue and loading area for Screamin.
something with that height and look would help with so much of the problems that are seen with the convention center and hilton looming over the area.
the ideal look for that area would be to make the coaster be in the background with buildings of diferent shapes and architecture being in the foreground. It would create a much more detailed overlay and make the coaster seem more impressive in the background.
Who cares if parts of the track are unseen from the area.

That is a wonderful idea! But wouldn't that be weird, having two rotundas facing each other [king triton carousel and TSMM]? ORRRr it would looks really great instead. haha. Add some layering and depth to PP. Thats what it needs. I kind wish they made more of a weathered-by-the-sea look. Some details like that would really add to the area.

i am doing a photoshop of the area with the building.
The area where the carousel is now would now become a lush garden area with only small buildings in the background that would cover the lower portion of Screamin and serve as the restrooms as well as an entrance to another attraction inside the helix.
That garden area would seperate this rotunda from the Midway one. Also the slight diference in architecture as well as building material would really blend everything nicely.
If they really think about it the infrustructure for something like that is there already.
First of all the fastpass machine area would be removed.
This area would become the new entrance area and courtyard for Screamin.
Secondly remove all the umbrellas and metal shade covering that is there now. The foundation and loading platform could all stay.
The foundation and concrete already there could be modified so that new supprts could be added to create a very open queue (think something like what they did for Midways queue).
The whole thing could be built as a shell with lots of detail. The concrete flooring given a proper marbelized look and some lush landscape placed in the area.
I would not mind Screamin closing for several months for something like this.
Or they could do it in stages and keep the coaster running until it is necessary to completely close it

That looks pretty cool. I like the idea of part of the queue of Screamin being covered like that with the arches. I think the roof of the rotunda type area (over the carousel) doesn't quite fit with the architecture of TSMM, but that could easily be changed.
I actually think they should move the carousel altogether to the area that will be vacated by the Maliboomer. I don't know if there would even be enough room there, but it would fit better there, and be thematically more appropriate in that "kiddie" area over there (Jellyfish, Little Mermaid, etc). Or, the Carousel could go out on the pier a bit where the Orange is after they take it down.
That probably won't happen (probably expensive to move the carousel), but it would fit better over there, and take away some of the congestion in that area near Screamin and TSMM.

i think that is what i liked about those buildings, it adds diversity similair to how the old boardwalks where. Coney Island amusement parks had some interesting architecture mixed in they were not all uniform

Yeah, I like the mix! That was the point of victorian entertainment architecture anyway. The more diverse decorative styles the better.

That is really cool!
Tell me, how does the new TSMM building look like in person? Is it really big, does it make you feel immersed in the theme? Does it feel "Disney"? Lastly, does it give you hope that Disney is really serious about fixing and improving DCA?Mark
