You're not killing two birds with one stone. All you're doing is finishing everything faster, but one is not necessary to complete the other. They don't need the lagoon drained to do the work on Screamin', so I don't see how it'd be benefiting them. It would make sense if you use this argument for the Orange Stinger, but for Screamin' I don't see how it's really valid.
While I, too, would like to see things done earlier rather than later, they already have a lot closed at this point. It'd be more beneficial to them to keep as much stuff open as possible, especially when their single busiest season of the year is starting tomorrow. I imagine they'd have a lot of pissed-off people if Screamin' was closed through the holidays. Closing it after the holidays makes a lot more sense.

Its probably a disapointment to alot of people that they have to stare at a cement hole instead of a lagoon,so maybe we should fill it up and wait,we wouldnt wait to make anyone unhappy.
Oh and Im sure its a disapointment to many to see a huge crane from inside DCA,so maybe they should stop the Grand Cali DVC construction. Afterall it might be someone's honeymoon and we wouldnt want to ruin thier pictures! oh and dont forget the holidays are coming up and we cant have a ugly crane there during xmas!

yeah, cause that's the same as a star attraction being shut down.
Those are all nessesary things, as will be closing Screamin' eventually. It would be poor planning to do it now. Even if they did, I don't think a concrete direction has been chosen for Screamin's queue. If they did it now it would probably be a slight rush job, it wouldn't look that great, and then you'd probably say TDA is stupid. Just a guess though."Disneyland is our greatest achievement. so at what point will be Screamin be shut down and be the ONLY attraction shut down? it seems to me that it will be eventually shut down during this whole DCA rennovation where alot of things will be closed anyhow,so I just dont see the difference. I find it hard to beleive that it wil; shut down with nothing else shuttered at the same time.

Never. Ever.
But Mickey's Fun Wheel will be open. Midway Games will be open. Coupled with Midway Mania and Maliboomer = alternatives. Not equal, but alternatives nonetheless. That space will at least look better to guests with just one ride on the boardwalk closed. It's obvious that by doing this in phases, they are trying to minimize the impact on guests."Disneyland is our greatest achievement. Because then after the holidays there will be the next excuse "oh we cant close DCAs most popular ride right before spring break!"...then after spring break the mantra will be "well we cant very well close Screamin for Summer can we!"..etc etc...there will NEVER be a perfect time to close it,they might as well do it now.

SCreamin's queue us not a priority at the moment. The work around the rest of the bay will be done first along with the renovation of Ariels grotto to Princess palace and all the added beautification done to Paradise pier.
Final decisions on the queue for screamin and the carousel are not done we will most likely see midway games, WOC, Mickey funwheel, silly synphony goofy sky scool, Beer Garden done as well as Mermaid well into construction before Screamin gets any work done on its queue. This will allow the whole western part of the park to be mostly operational.

No, you can never please everyone. BUT, 2 attractions on the boardwalk itself are already closed. Screamin' coupled with those two is not good planning. They would not have two big attractions (Screamin' and Fun Wheel) in the same area closed over the busy Christmas season. Thats a lot less people going through an attraction in an hour than if only one is closed.
Maybe they'll do it next winter when the lagoon is drained....when they have a nailed down plan as to what they're doing.
A crane and a dry lagoon are not attractions that the Guests can ride. Not even close to the same thing.
I'm nearly 100% sure they're not closing Screamin' now just because of the Holidays...or just because Spring break is in the near future. Granted, whenever they update Screamin' it will sure be in the off season.
Exactly!
