I believe Screamin' was closed during Luminararia.

Luminaria was shown pretty much at park closing, but they did close Screamin' and the Sun Wheel about a half hour early or so so the rides would not be running during the show.

The other issue is the loud screams coming from the rides around the Pier. I'm sure people don't want the show interrupted by people screaming every 15-20 seconds. It certainly wouldn't be a pleasant experience for first-time viewers, or anyone paying top-dollar for the dessert buffet that's sure to pop-up eventually.
This why the 9,000 capacity amphtheatre is on the side away from attractions that involve loud noises... all attractions should be able to operate during the show

Hi gleeclub its nice seeing you back. Since you mentioned loud attractions, are they considering running Screamin as well during the show? My guess is that the noice level from the other end of the bay will not be sso bad since the water pressure and soundtrack will diminish most of it but will the amount of water be a problem?

I'm pretty sure Screamin and the Sun Wheel (as well as the smaller attractions) will be closed during World of Color. With the right wind speed and the high jets of water I'm thinking the water would be splashing into the people riding the wheel and they'd basically be hosed down inside a cage with no way of getting out...which is pretty funny when you think about it. Screamin' would be a distraction during the softer portions of the show with the trains running and the screams from the people riding the attraction. They may do it ala Epcot (and like they did when LuminAria was around) where they perform the show right at park closing. Epcot closes at 9pm, but they always show Illuminations at that time.

I think Disney is OVERestimating the success of WoC,I think guests will love it but I dont think we will see these huge crowds like they think they will.

the goal is to have all attractions open including california screamin however once you move into a preview stage and test and adjust phase it can change.. we hope not. The show is being designed not only from a technical standpoint and creative standpoint to be wonderful no pun intended but also designed to help flaw points of old so that everything doesnt have to close down. we really looked at how shows operate in tokyo and epcot to make this right and steve and his team are doing a fantastic job

I think that they need to keep screamin' open during WOC. It's a main E ticket that shouldn't close.
