I always thought of it as a generic seaside park that could be anywhere in the state. It's a little bit of everything - Santa Cruz, Santa Monica, Belmont Park, etc.

Exactly Ismael...exactly.
The way I see it, it's a psychological thing...people already have their minds made up...
And all these big plans and construction projects don't exist within a bubble...things get pushed back, issues come up, and the like. Jumping to the conclusion that it means all this stuff isn't going to happen, that DCA and Disney forever doomed, etc...it starts to get old, fast.
I guess I've had enough of it because with everything that is going on in this country, most companies firing off most of their workforce, closing properties, canceling projects, and major downsizing (some of it needed)...the fact that Disney is even going ahead with all this, even with the cutbacks or delays, says something... I'm just thankful...

I agree, it seems like sometimes we can not just escape the problems going on around us for a bit and enjoy discussing the projects without someone complaining that there are too many walls, DCA sucks, DCA is underperforming, WDI this WDI that, TDA this TDA that. really, we know the park has issues. It has had issues since 2001 i think we all know already and unless i am wrong the ones running Disney also know or else they would not invest so much money on it at one time.
I am surprised the 2fer arguement is not being thrown in our face everytime the park gets a decent crowd. I am just glad that marketing changed their wording on the commercials and is finally phrasing it the way the legal department had worded the offer or else we would even be seeing how DCA is free in every other post.

Why would anyone complain about construction walls in DCA. They are there because of enhancements to a park that drastically needs them.
DCA is struggling, and WoC isn't going to change that, but is the attendance pattern anything different than what we have seen over the past 8 years.
No new info. here, and the attendance is exactly why Disney "WANTED", to bring all of these additions and enhancements to the park.

Plano you must have missed the worthless discussion about how DCA had too many walls up during the busy weekend while Disneyland did not. It all went back to the same tired thing about how DCA is the ugly stepchild that TDA does not care about and therefore we all need to be reminded that it is underperforming and that it had a smaller crowd then Disneyland and this and that.
but back to the topic of the thread
Looks like we have a very nice dry day which is perfect lots of construction to go on. We should be able to see some significant changes these next few days to the Paradise Pier area

How can you complain about a park "sucking", and then complain about the walls that are there to improve it?
Also, the DCA attendance argument is so in the past. Disney has acknowledged it, we all know it and that is why they are determined to makeover DCA, whether it happens in the next 3 years or not until the next 10.

Ah, it´s nice to know you can go away for a long time but some things always remain the same!

All looking good so far but I´m thinking I´ll make it up to DLR at the beginning of May, so if the walls are still up then I will demand a refund... or an extra day free.

I wonder what color they are painting that bridge from the bay to pacific wharf? there are currently tarps around it. I kind of like the rustic green color they have now,it looks pretty realistic.
