The only thing I see wrong with the new turnstiles is that they're a replica of the Disney Hollywood Studios entrance (i.e. Disney MGM) from Florida. I guess that makes it cheaper but it's kind of a cop-out.

I thought we'd all decided that the design does match the era, but now I'm not so sure... Are we talking 1920s Hollywood or 1930s? Because the Pan-Pacific Auditorium, that the new turnstiles are based on, says it was "inaugurated" in 1935. So hopefully that'll be incorporated into the "story" of Buena Vista Street... Not that Disney cares very much about that sort of thing anymore. :P

Well as far as setting the land back the biggest issue is that the Hollywood Tower Hotel is completely dilappidated with 70 years of wear and tear when the events that happened there were in 1939 and the rest of the land takes place in the 20s/30s....

Anyone see the new brickwork they are laying down along Hollywood Blvd? It looks wonderful and much better than the bland, contemporary asphalt the land originally had.

I like the clean look, but I can't honestly remember seeing any old pictures of LA/Hollywood where the roads were made of brick. I know that WDW's Studio park has faux tracks covered up with asphalt with some exposure of bricks beneath the broken asphalt. So I assume they did their research and know that brick was the way roads were made in 1930's?
    With this ring...

I'm not even sure the land is being "set" back in the 1930's. They might make the architecture fit better within that period, but I don't know if the land itself will be overall set in that time period.
