This is arguably the most important retheme in the entire park. I doubt they would cancel it. A delay does not mean cancel. I'm still excited about it.

DCA Project Tracker on MiceAge now reports that the temporary entrance will be through the gate between soarin' and the GCH.

Its going to be interesting having the temporary turnstyle sandwiched between one of the main entrance for World of Disney and a restuarant. I wonder how they will manage the security check and how the renters of that restuarant are going to like being seperated from the Downtown Disney crowd for several months.
Just look at how narrow that area is

The most logical location for a temporary entrance within the security section really seems ot be the gates next to the old millionare building. They could easily add some themed walls in a section of the backstage and have people enter the park into Hollywood backlot

It's actually not that bad, because they don't necessarily have to have the gates themselves or the security check out by the restaurant/World of Disney area. Something like this:

You'll have two fairly large staging areas for people (green highlights) in front of the gates and also in front of the security check. Compared to the very large lines of people waiting to get into DCA that are seen in that picture on the right, I think there's plenty of room near Soarin to have the entrance there.

I think the Soarin' side makes more sense, HPB can get really crowded especially after showings of Aladdin and during parades plus the HPB side means guests would have to cut across a backstage section of the park just to get in.
Plus, if anything, it seems La Brea would stand to gain even more business with the park entrance being literally right next door.
Simba, your illustration puts the gates way farther in the park than I think they need to or would do (before the plane seems a little more reasonable and not right on top of the major artery) but I think you're on the right track, plus there's a big area behind Soarin' too that could be used to corral guests or hold temporary Guest Relations tents.Joey AKA "dlfreak"

my concern is not so much the long staging area for guest to line up and enter the park. Where i see a problem is when you have people wanting to come into the park and people wanting to leave the park.
Also during some of the busy weekends the Soarin lines extend on the west side of the building.
The positioning of the gates like you explained do make sense, i had not thought about that.
I sitll think there would be less traffic porlbmes on the HPB side. Even with the concern of Hyperion letting out there is still the large backlot area which could actually benefit from the crowd entering the park

I would certainly love to be the owner of La Brea right now, imagine how many thousands of people will walk right by your restaurant each and every day for the next couple years

Don't... most people at the resort go past it already? Yeah, there is the western entrance to the esplanade... but the eastern side is certainly the primary.

I was thinking that the guests would line up near the current entrance and then be redirected to the side entrance. This would relieve confusion and people getting lost.
