I always thought that a Hollywood Hills "berm" with the Hollywoodland sign would look cool in an area that would stretch behind Tower of Terror, acting as a transition between the Hollywood area with Cars Land.

I believe Universal Studios in Florida has a facade/backdrop of the Hollywood hills with the famous sign. Just because something is trademarked, doesn't mean it can't be used elsewhere as long as there is $$ involved.

Of course not, a trademark doesn't mean it can't be used, it just means money has to be involved for its use. I'm sure Disney tried or at least looked into it and found it not to be worthy.

Why, then, did they decide to use it in WDS Paris if cost was an issue? It's the first thing you see as you walk into the main part of the park:




That was part of the new additions, too....it wasn't like that when the park first opened.

Id imagine the Hollywood in the hills imagery is a bit more powerful some 4000 miles away from the real thing. it probably gets more attention in DLP than it would in DCA since you arent far from the real thing in DCA. personally i dont even really know why it is such an icon but that is beyond the fact

A little out of topic but anyone remember the pathetic light show they had on the hollywood sign at the 2000 new years eve celebration?

Even the poorest of countries celebrated with big elaborate shows but Southern California had spotlights on this "Iconic" sign

Apparently (at least according to Al) D'mom was right about Buena Vista Street and Star Tours getting pushed back a year. Yes, that's right folks, you heard it here first.
