Buena Vista Street (2012)

Buena Vista Street to me will remind me of Main Street. Lots of shops, lots of little places to snack. This renovation is very much so needed and it comes at a perfect time! With WOC here to support the numbers and to keep them high, now is the perfect time to do renovate!

I read somewhere along the line that Oswald's Gas Station would be the where restrooms are located. So I got to thinking that if that were the case, they likely are enclosing the outside restrooms on the eastide of DCA's entrance into the park boundry to use as the park's new frontgate restrooms. I'm guessing the same for the lockers? Has anyone heard any information if this is happening?

Also, anyone have a list of what stores are going into what locations. From the concept art, it looks like the old stroller area is being enclosed to some sort of store. It's hard to tell from the concept art what the current locker and restroom buildings are being turned into.

Doesn't look like the gates really get pushed back much (like the rumors about pushing back to the CA letters). Seems like they have enough space to execute the concept without needing that much space.

I can't imagine they'd need or want to relocate bathrooms to the opposite side of the street (Mermaid not withstanding). I think I heard that Oswald's would be the DCA equivalent to the DL newsstand.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm not sure where I heard that the bathrooms were moving.

I could be wrong, whenever I heard about Oswald's it was a very long time ago so that might have changed.

Is it still on target for 2011 completion? Sounds like a stretch to me at this point.

Heard this on a new Levi's commercial got to thinking it would be perfect atmosphere music for Buena Vista Street, especially around the Carthay or in Hollywood Land.

When this thread was made (in 2008), I believe it was supposed to start construction in Jan 2010. It got pushed back due to the opening of World of Color I think and should be in full swing in Jan 2011. So it was just pushed back a year.

It will be completed in 2012 according to Blue Sky Cellar.

Possibly after they are done removing the mural?
